  1. Some more pics (and I posted two of the roof earlier up the thread).
  2. Im no expert on the prototype, but I think the model is a much improved version and looks great. Will upload some pics now from a little review I did on Facebook and you can see what you think.
  3. Same here. I've got a lenz standard and that doesn't sit flat on the pins either.
  4. Did you find the screws under the bogies (just in front of the rear wheels on each set)? Sorry if you did, but they are the ones that caught me out for a while as not a normal Bachmann placing.
  5. I've seen them used on the Drax run a few times, but they always look better hauling the Scotsman 66743 Royal Scotsman by Mark Nulty, on Flickr
  6. Looks great in green without the warning panels and much improved over the past releases. What's the detail pack like? Hopefully mine will arrive tomorrow.
  7. Railfreight version is today's advent offering by Rails of Sheffield. Have held out up to now, but severely tempted at £140!
  8. The Army livery looks really nice aswell. That's 3 tempting ones so far, but Im holding out for the Longmorn Distillery one. Hopefully will arrive soon now!
  9. I've got a lenz standard in mine. Wasnt the easiest to fit though, and have used the sticky pad you get with it to secure it underneath the circuit board above the driveshaft.
  10. I got one of these whilst in Scotland last month. It's going to control the sidings and goods yard around the distillery on my new layout. We were travelling around on a 15 day Spirit of Scotland rover, so managed to see the real box as well (excuse the rain it was an extremely wet day)
  11. Thanks! I used a little bit of white spirit in the end on a cotton bud. The name came off easy enough, but the cab numbers took ages to rub off. I also noticed that the model only had the three numbers. When researching yesterday it looks like 87027 and others did on all the photos I could see, so I am guessing it was fleetwide.
  12. The wait for this was definitely worth it. The livery has been well applied and it looks great with a rake of mk3s and dvt. Shame about the pantograph but hey ho. I renumbered mine last night; first time I've done it and was a bit nervous on a brand new model, but I think that it looks ok.
