This is the track plan I have decided on - I hope you can understand how it will look ! the construction of the baseboards was straightforward enough but care still has to be taken even though they have ' notches ' to assist in lining them up. It reminded me of the MFI flat packs of the 70's - but much more engineered.

Hi,
Since parting company with 'Kinlochewe ' back in November 2014 I have been eager to start another project. For my next layout I intend to model Glenfinnan on the West Highland extension. Using my existing fleet of loco's and newly aquired CL 156's I will be modelling the station as it is now and prior to refurbishment. That will mean building 2 station buildings and 2 signal boxes - more of this later !
I shall be using modular baseboards supplied by Tim Horn Baseboards which are laser - cut into a circular design and which will be ideally suited for Glenfinnan. I intend to model the approach to the station from the Mallaig and Fort William direction - mius the viaduct ! A separate board will be attatched to the front edge to accommate the 2 coaches that represent the sleeping and restuarant facilities. ( see pics ). The colour pic of the signal box was taken by K. Cooke.

Hi Peter,
Sorry to hear about your health issues - I'm sure all the rest of the guys here at Bonnybridge wish you a speedy recovery or something like normality !
Regards
Bill.

Bill, I never caught up with you, I managed one and a half hours to see the whole show! And had to cherry pick the exhibits I wanted to see. You never know, there might be another chance to catch up with Glenuig in the north before I finally pull the plug, and there's no sign of that at the moment
Gary
Will look forward to that !
Cheers, Bill

Your'e pics are amazing Dave - my fav's being the 27's and 37's - where will it go next ?
Bill.

Biff's latest 37's are really impressive, to get the very best from them fit a large 8ohm ABC Bass Reflex in the tanks, requires a strip down of the chassis, and some mods to the speaker casing, but the end results are well worth the effort.
Done that - read the book - got the T-shirt !

Hi Gary,
Sorry I didn't get round to see you whilst at Warley but we were both ' bowled ' over by the response to 'Kinlochewe' at Warley - fact is spent most of the time looking over the backscene. Glad I got the chance to see Glenuig at Glasgow last time.

My 37 025 West Highland was showcasing at Warley all weekend - you should have seen the look on the faces of the viewers when we opened up the throttle just after leaving platform 1.
Enjoy Neil.

Hi,
Bought my copy whilst down at Warley - not dissapointed !

There is a 13 page article on Portchullin, which I can vouch is all new including its photographs becauase I wrote it!
I have not seen the rest yet, but I will be keen to do so.
It's worth buying for this alone !

Come on Dave - can't believe that 47 076 couldn't be renamed / renumbered with a cotton bud and T-cut, some BR blue blown over it ( don't even mask it off - just close the nozzle down ) fit the new nameplates and finally a couple of passes of grime with the airbrush. " Simple " click - click " .

Great pics of the layout Dave! Glad your here - otherwise wouldn't be able to appreciate all those pics being posted by your ' art directors '

p.s. When used in the ScR - were they often propelled? or will I need to run round !

Hi,
Great to see the layout at Perth on Sunday - looks even better in the flesh ! Snow in Scotland doesn't come in ' Sma ! doses ' ! ( only kiddin! ).

Thanks Kev - that will do for the time being. Any plans to bring Loch Dour north of the border any time soon !

Hi Kev,
Any chance of seeing a pic of that sleeper working - if not when you are at the show - plz !
Bill.

Someone has been busy! Looking forward to seeing the white stripe 37
Me too !

Thanks Bill. That might be worth a try too. I know that some people have managed to fit a bass speaker between the bogies, which really appeals. The only problem is that I don't want to destroy the superb underframe detail on my 26s/27s. Some action is definitely needed though, as I'm not happy with the current sound. It sounds much too "tinnie" to my ears.
Have posted a pic of 26 039 on my layout thread ( should read 20 x 48 speaker ).
