  1. More progress has been made on the shed with the main structure now compete and all the ledges and plinths added. For now I will be leaving the shed as is so I have the opportunity to add in lighting etc. when the time comes I have also starting assembly of the baseboards. This is the first section which is 95% complete. I am meerly waiting for the glue to dry
  2. Some interesting announcements, especially the W1 and A2/2. Not for me personally but will certainly be a nice addition to Eastern layouts I'll take the 2MT though!!!
  3. Had a break from proper modelling over Christmas but back at it now. The windows for the shed have arrived and a start has been made to fitting them. This shows the first wall with windows fitted and attached to the wall with the workshop on The opposite side will be completed in due course but that is currently sat under my tool box trying to flatten out Whilst waiting for that to happen I have made a start on the plinths and ledges for the outer wall with the guides glued to the appropriate thickness of card
  4. Everything fits nice and snug and after getting a few wagons out the concept in my head and on paper works. Unfortunately I am at the family home for Christmas so didn't bring the bits of shed I have been working on to see how it looks with locos in it ☹️ The point currently placed are old setrack, the final ones will be Code 75 but for the overall look I'm happy
  5. The baseboard has arrived. Time to get see if it all fits together
  6. Minor update on shed progress. The back wall, windowless wall and workshop have all be glued together. The plan is to hide the joins between each wall with guttering The rest will follow in due course but I am waiting delivery of the Brass master windows before I can continue
  7. No real plan for shunting. Just run locos round a bit say "Into the shed>disposal>wait a bit>out again>coal/water>off shed and bringing in some wagons for disposal of ash and coal deliveries
  8. Hi All With a me recently getting a new job, I have some spare change rattling around in my pocket, I have decided to get back into railway modelling again properly. I'm a bit limited on space so the appeal of a micro layout seems logical to say the least. After toying with multiple ideas I eventually decided to model a small steam shed as this meant I could run/display quite a few of my locos at once. The concept is quite simple. 2 shed roads and a road for coaling/watering/other stuff to add a bit of operational interest. Current progress, the Scale Model Scenery baseboards are on order but in the meantime I have started work on the shed. It is the Scalescene Gable shed but with a few adaptations and additions including a small workshop as well as "blocking up" one end of the shed as the kit is designed as a through shed (in reality the blocking is simply replacing the pre-designed sheets with brick paper)
