  1. Mike Thank you for the information, it is greatly appreciated Cheers Richard
  2. Hello Mike I am building this kit from Arthur and I am up to this point in the build of the body work. Please a question if I may, if you can cast your mind back to when you built this. In the view above there is a small bracket located on the cab side sheet which has 2 holes in it and below it in the tank top there are 2 corresponding holes and on the opposite tank top there are 2 other holes do you know what these are for? Thank you Richard
  3. Hello Regarding the N.E.R. battery boxes, I found this supplier on ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275620422239?hash=item402c41e25f:g:yfcAAOSwBFhjszTD I dont know if these represent the 5ft ones mentioned. The seller does indicate that they can be supplied seperately. Hope this helps. Richard
  4. Hello Mick I also use this method with a few of variations. The attached photo shows the main one which is the addition of a couple of straight n/s wires attached front to back either side of the slot in the bogie stretcher, the wires help to give some sideways control of the bogie movement and help to guide the driving wheels, I limit the sideplay on the bogie axles to give just a running clearence. The other is that I add or remove thin washers above the spring to adjust the load carried by the spring rather than physically stretching or shortening it. Regarding the sources of B16 kits DJH have one in their range in OO scale, if it can be built to EM or P4 gauge I do not know. Richard
  5. Mick Thank you It is good to hear that Arthur was progressing, may he continue to do so. Richard
  6. Hello Mick and Mike Do you know how is Arthur after his health problems? Has he managed to recommence trading? I do not wanrt to contact him if he is still unwell. Thank you Richard
  7. Hello Mick Thank you for the information, I will try ebay fingers crossed. Richard
  8. Hello Mick I am looking for red lining to finish off in LNER lined black my D20 loco built from one of Arthur K kits. May I ask if you have used the HMRS sheet since the problems you had with these, if so are the recent incarnations any better. Thank you Richard
  9. Hello Tony Thank you for the information. What a pity it may have gone for good, I attended last years show and can only reiterate your comments regarding the attendance. If memory serves me well it was the last time I saw Eileens Emporium, I think they went bust the week following last years Wigan show Forunately as APOLLO commented there is Leigh show to look forward to. Both last years show and this years were well worth a visit. The organiser really does put the effort in, and no doubt he will have plans in place for next years show. For me it is a 15 minute journey to the venue. Regards Richard
  10. Tony From your comment regarding Wigan show going, have you anymore information regarding what has happened, has it disappeared just for this year? Thank you Richard
  11. Hi Please do you have the web address for this supplier. I have tried searching for it without success. I've found every other 3d print supplier but not this one. Thanks Richard
  12. Hi Mike I came across a you tube video by the 0 Gauge Guild in which they were interviewing a professional model railway painter, I can't remember his name but he used "Magic Tape" to produce his boiler bands in the same way you have used masking tape. He stuck the tape onto plasticard rather that hardboard. Might be worth trying if yours come unstuck. Richard
  13. I know it as a Scribing Block. Here is mine, made by me over 54 years ago when I was an engineering apprentice at Electro-Hydraulics in Warrington. Richard
  14. Hello 247 Developments have some washers, with square holes, listed under the loco detailing parts They are listed as :- G71 6 thou washers to convert Romford axle to 'OO' Fine Scale Standards. I have used them in the past not for converting to DOGA fine standards but to pack out Markits EM gauge wheels and axles which were a bit tight on the EM back to back measurement. Hope this helps Richard
