So glad Tonbridge is back I remember reading about it in the free supplements with Rail I still have them!
This is one of the layouts that made me want to do model railways.

Great pics of 37025 you must have been one of the most photographed trains in UK that day would obviously like to see her work a few trains up here but as long as she is mainline earning her keep and some £ to help restore her sisters. You never know if Colas still need 37's you could be driving 37261 when she is restored.
Also Jim if you can you should try and get here for Bo'ness diesel gala you could even bring the class 70 don't think they have had one there yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am fairly sure timber loading was done at Taynuilt well into the 2000's as part of the Enterprise network I think operations were at some point concentrated at Crainlarich until EWS lost the contract for the timber

To my mind they are better looking in the flesh than pictures. If you stand below track level and look up at them going past they do remind this old guy of a D800 Warship. They also make good guttural noises when being pushed a bit as when they double headed the Daventry Scotland train last year for a few weeks. Being lucky ? Enough to live next to the WCML I can see the Mountsorrel most days if I want to, only need to see Dottie 007 and the latest pair at the moment ! Worth tracking down
Toffee
Hope you get to see dottie 007 soon hope my pics will do in the meantime we call this livery Spotrail

Wow
Has it really been over a year. Had a lot going on last year passing driving test getting my first ever car and seeing Vulcan XH558 for the final few times so railways and model railways have taken a bit of a backburner. Having said that i am still building up the stock to run on Loch Tarbhit just more slowly than I would have liked. I now have most of the freight I wish to run so focus has turned to passenger trains coaches are proving elusive and expensive but I continue to check E-bay and local model shops.
I shall post a few update photos soon the layout is safe and well.

"60s are the comfiest and 70s are quite nice (when they are not moving and bouncing around!)
37s are not comfy at all, 47s are ok, 66s big cab end are best for sleeping on"37's may not be comfy but they have a damn good stereo!- 2

What is your favourite depot where class 37's were based no surprise but has to be Motherwell for me .
The Ravenscraig pool locos were used on heavy trains and full power was used on a good portion of these journeys. With a good reliabillity rate.
Then there was the mid to late 90's i dont think other depots could have survived such a massive loss most of it's traffic wiped out.
Despite clouse under DBS it is now used by DRS and class 37's do still make it there every now and then.
True grit what a good depot but what is your favourite maybe you worked there or had a visit or open day. Please share post pics or anecdotes/stories what makes your class 37 depot

What a great operation a very modelable train this is sort of traffic the railways should be winning back all over he country
thanks for posting

Sadly mostly freight
Single Class 37 northbound departing Aviemore, very early in the morning
Pair of Class 37 departing Paisley with Hunterston - Ravenscraig Iron Ore, due to signal stop (as the train wouldn't normally stop)
and then following on from that
with one additional Class 37 on any southbound Mossend - Ravenscraig Iron Ore or coal train
Nice
My family are from Lanarkshire but we moved and i was still young i can remember seeing Ravenscraig and a trip to Motherwell TMD when i was younger there was blue and redstripe class 37's and a breakdown train wish i had seen one of these trains seen a few vids of them amazing noise

Just a bit of fun what are your favorite 37 hauled trains passenger and freight 1 rule though
They must be trains which you have actualy seen in in the flesh feel free to post pics if you have them too
Mine are both Scottish services as you would expect,
The Royal Scotsman it is etched in my memory seeing 37428 when repainted into the Maroon livery being sent off by a piper
The freight train is the Hartlepool to Georgemass pipe train what a glorious racket and those big yellow pipes just look good

Sorry to hear of the failure of 56113 looks like you had your own diesel gala that day though!
Seen a pic of DRS 37 and the errant 56 with some good clag from the exhausts.
Also after repairs 56113 made back up to Grangemouth
