  1. Still in the process of removing period inaccuracies on the route, Seems a smaller job than changing the benches from 1930s types to Victorian GWR benches. Im also sure there’s still some electric 50s lamps about but I’m struggling to find them.
  2. News on the signals. They've now been added to the route in three select points, That might be too many however but I really like how it looks with a Dean Goods passing it as it adds so much flavour alongside the standard Semaphores.
  3. Good news everyone! after a week or so with assistance with a few friends, I bring you the first Broad Gauge item for Railworks! Hope you all enjoy.
  4. Sorry for the inactivity, In terms of GC whistles, Butler Henderson has a whistle that is very very similar to some of the Isle of Man locos and L&YR locos in preservation due to the close proximity of Gorton and Beyers works.
  5. Somebody mentioned they wanted to see a video of the game in motion? Here a 2600 negotiates the crossover from the branch after dropping off the token around 1907.
  6. And promised, The distant signal signals are now period correct! Now once that Brunel signal is finished that’ll be the track infrastructure done bar the point rodding.
  7. I’ve come to realisation that I’m going to have to get a couple more reskins, I forgot this even existed in this period so it was a real Slaps Forehead moment, Establishment advertisements painted on buildings. Shide Station, IOW, late 1800s - Early 1900s.
  8. I envy the the variety of signals you have to use, I’m having to make do with LNWR pattern type signals on a GWR route because TS doesn’t use a standardised signal script. Luckily I’m able to make the meshes for signals so I’ve got a couple of Summersault meshes stashed away, but the shear versatility of Trainz system with signalling is so desirable. Example: I can’t use other devs signals because they use a different scripting method, So this Brunel signal I’m making will have to reference the same script as these LNWR LQs otherwise it won’t work.
  9. Hi all, So I won’t be working on the route for a few days as I can afford to do so now it’s in the very advanced stages. So I've turned my attention to a making one asset for the route. There will only be one placed on the route due to the advanced era of the route but I feel it’s important to have at least one operational one, Its not perfect or 100% accurate but with my limited modelling skills I think it’s good enough for the time being. Much thanks must go to Camscott for helping with the animations and a few mesh intersections.
  10. A friend of mine has kindly reskined some period poster boards to use for the route, It’s really helped in adding flavour. On another note what could make a route more Victorian/Edwardian than a Brunel Timber viaduct? Answer: A Brunel Covered Station!
  11. Honestly I would but unfortunately there’s no content available, Taff Vale will be more likely to come about in the future.
  12. Seeing how well the route can cope with Holiday traffic, Luckily some of the original stations had Welsh names which allows me to have... Flexibility on extra traction.
  13. Thanks very much! On the subject of merits, The two sims is subjective to taste il be honest, There’s no clear cut winner or looser. I prefer Railworks personally for the realism factor as I work with locos in real life, Trainz has far more varied content however, What I’m doing in Railworks is something that has not been attempted in any capacity as to garner more of a following in the subject of Pre-Grouping. Not a single Pre-grouping route exists in Railworks, I’m hoping to change the status quo.
  14. Did a few comparison shots last night from the unedited route and the 1910s version. Here you you can see 40 years of change, Once someone gets around to doing broad gauge il do an even earlier version me thinks. : As a side note someone mentioned that the benches on the route were 1930s spec, luckily thanks to old Decapod there’s some Pre Grouping style GWR benches that I’ve been able to implement.
  15. Hello all! Long time follower of the thread here but only recently decided to get an account as I now have something to offer. I’ve recently been working on backdating a fictional route in Train Simulator from the 1950s to around the 1910 era, For people who have this game/and or know of it you will know that, although there are now plenty of Pre-grouping locos now the routes and assets are not plentiful. Ive been trying very hard by doing a lot of cross references and bodging to come up with something remotely decent. The first step was acquiring a prototype and the most logical step when choosing something like this is what’s available, I settled on GWR in the 1910s as that has the most assets readily accessible to us wether that be in terms of stock or station clutter. Its very much a work in progress, Currently I’m waiting on a couple of reskins for red distant semaphores and a few more posters.
