  1. I've just seen the review of the Farish N gauge version in Model Rail and that looks correct, so hopefully the OO gauge one will be too. On a separate issue, has anyone got both of the InterCity liveried LE models 47541 and 47406? Are the colours and strip widths the same - in particular the yellow on the cab fronts and the white and red bodyside lines on the bodysides. Presumably the position of the front spotlight is the same, although those on the real 47406 were more to the right than standard. If anyone can post a photo of both models alongside each other that would be great.
  2. I was hoping for a single chimney, late crest, Collett tender, which Hornby are currently not producing, as that's the period I model. I'm not convinced by the aesthetics of the Castle double chimney - real or modelled. So if I decide I don't like the look of the double chimney on Ince Castle when it's available, I'll go for Tintagel instead since the illustration makes it look very nice indeed.
  3. 461 I've ordered mine - hopefully it will arrive here in Portugal before the end of the week. Incidentally, Rails are fitting a Bachmann decoder for me at a very reasonable price as I too find Bachmann's 47s a ****** to get into. 535 I've also had another look at the pre-production pics of 535, because something didn't look right. It's finally dawned on me. On the real thing, the 5s were too big rather than the 3 being smaller... Let's hope the production version is correct.
  4. No sign of Tintagel is indeed frustrating. I prefer a single chimney version and want to see pictures of both Tintagel and Ince Castle to compare before deciding which to go for. Hopefully any delay to Tintagel is not enough for Ince to have sold out... But we may be lucky - Hattons at least have the BR green liveried 4 compartment Maunsell Brakes (R4395A & R4395B) in stock and they are not in the Hornby newsletter...
  5. Do you just need a body, or do you need the chassis to be correct as well? 470 had lost it's boiler tanks by the time it was in blue with large logo style yellow cabs and Highland Rail logo. This rules out 079 which retained these tanks. That just leaves 835, which was the same as 470, but does Bachmann's current tooling cover the long-range tank underframe? I thought not, yet.
  6. I emailed Rails and they said the model should be delivered shortly. Looking at the photos on Class47.co.uk, I can't see anything wrong with the strip widths, but you probably need to see the model at first hand to be sure. What is good to see is that Rails/Bachmann have got the ScotRail branding correct, i.e. at different heights on each side. For me, it a shame they've fitted radio aerials as it puts the loco at the end of its career when it never had a pristine coast of paint as the model does, but that's a minor issue.
  7. It may well be the basis, but where is the DCC decoder socket on the Grange? Isn't it in the loco? The Castle has the decoder socket in the tender and the new power connector to the loco. If so, something has to be redesigned. And hasn't Hornby said both tender variants will be all new tooling.
  8. Rails' 47541 does look good and I'm certainly intertested. But it is expensive (interestingly Gaugemaster's 47406 is around a tenner cheaper), so rather than buy 47541 now I'm going to wait until their 47461 with Scotrail blue stripe is available and then choose one.
  9. Fair point. When 82016 is available, I may well take up your offer. In fairness to all retailers, where I buy from is usually determined by the total cost including how much it costs to ship to me in Portugal.
  10. Hi Gareth, The new Bachmann Std 3MT please. Depending how easy it is will determine whether I buy 82016 or wait for a DCC fitted BR(S) version - hopefully it's just a case of undoing screws but if it also includes detaching a speedometer cable or the like, forget it! Thanks,
