    I am a traitor!!

    I am with Jim.

    The website does need rebuilding

Most of the photos date from when it was more of a linear scrapyard!!

I don’t even think the wooden calcine wagons on the website are still around! I do think it’s a shame they’re no longer around, they would have made an interesting rake

  2. Good morning, after some stop and starting on the main lines, I’ve decided to start work on the Colliery Yard, the first two sidings at first as some more points are required as well as track pins and fish plates.
The siding nearest to the shed with the 3x 16ton mineral wagons on is to form a loop so the Coal Board engines can run around their train. This is made up of Peco Flexi-track while the two sidings to the rear of the water tower are peco set track lengths.

More updates to follow when some more parts have been acquired.EB3A7C01-44E3-4456-9C13-3EC42EF26DDB.jpeg.af2613c4a310d433011be60d751b2273.jpeg

  3. Goodbye Singapore - hello Hood!

i had to rethink my ideas a little bit as my dark green paint “gummed up” and I had some RN Grey left over after an Airfix ‘Hood’ kit was built. The decals are also from an airfix kits, this time a Blackburn Buccaneer SC2. She does have crew and painted cab. I picked the name because my great grandfather served on Hood at some point in the 20-30s.

Quite proud of my piece work. Now where’s the dockyard layout?...

Inspired once again by someone else on this thread from a while back, here's my most recent creation: 'Aion', a traction engine shunter based on a re-motored Hornby 0-4-0 chassis, Caley Pug running plate and a Keil Kraft traction engine kit. It's a bit of a beast but I rather like it really - suits my love of the weird and wonderful!

I’ll have to put this on my “to build” list.

It should be a fun little engine to run every now and then on my ironstone quarry layout, the shed is always up for an extension!
