  1. I don’t even think the wooden calcine wagons on the website are still around! I do think it’s a shame they’re no longer around, they would have made an interesting rake
  2. Looks like you had a brilliant day there Neil! The Tallylyn is still on my “still to visit” list, I love the last picture of Edward Thomas at Abergynolwyn.
  3. Evening Paul, you must be getting quite the loco roster now! Looks brilliant, I especially like the brown livery, quite different from the normal green of the other quarry locos.
  4. Good morning, after some stop and starting on the main lines, I’ve decided to start work on the Colliery Yard, the first two sidings at first as some more points are required as well as track pins and fish plates. The siding nearest to the shed with the 3x 16ton mineral wagons on is to form a loop so the Coal Board engines can run around their train. This is made up of Peco Flexi-track while the two sidings to the rear of the water tower are peco set track lengths. More updates to follow when some more parts have been acquired.
  5. I’ve only just came across this forum, my uncle used to live near the C&HPR route and so I shall be following this with great interest!

  8. Brilliant pictures Ian. I can’t wait for one of the 0-6-0s over there to be restored, should make some quite impressive noise coming up that canal bank!
  9. Keep uploading those pictures Ian! I like seeing how the museum has changed over the last 40 year.
  10. Now those Industrial Tanks are the best I’ve seen! Love the name “Compass Rose”, the Cruel Sea has to be one of my favourite Naval films. Keep up the good work.
  11. Can I ask how the lettering has been applied on the Janus?, As I have an idea to have a USC visitor on my layout, my plan consists of obtaining a Golden Valley Janus, doing a bit of cosmetic work and I'm just a wee bit stuck on the lettering... Thank you
  12. Goodbye Singapore - hello Hood! i had to rethink my ideas a little bit as my dark green paint “gummed up” and I had some RN Grey left over after an Airfix ‘Hood’ kit was built. The decals are also from an airfix kits, this time a Blackburn Buccaneer SC2. She does have crew and painted cab. I picked the name because my great grandfather served on Hood at some point in the 20-30s. Quite proud of my piece work. Now where’s the dockyard layout?...
  13. I find it really interesting seeing how the museum started and how it’s changed over the past 40 years. Really enjoying these Ian.

  15. This seems like an interesting bash, a 0-6-4 Pannier Crane Tank. This example was built at Swindon in 1901.
  16. I’ve only came across this thread, but I must say they are very smart little engines!
  17. I’ll have to put this on my “to build” list. It should be a fun little engine to run every now and then on my ironstone quarry layout, the shed is always up for an extension!
