  1. Gentlemen.

    Thanks again.

The 182 pages of ''Grantham'' looks like my next big read !

So much interesting inspirational content on here.

One day hopefully can contribute to as well with a build....

Grantham, miss my 70s visits to see the mighty Deltic's wiz  through.

Even now think the trip over from Nottingham sitting behind the driver in the class 114 DMU with fond memories.

assume the Grantham layout will still be soon actively on the layout circuit.

    Peter

  2. Thanks.

If visiting future exhibitions do any members run these set on layouts ?

    Silver Jubilee

    Coronation

    East Anglian

cannot recall seeing these at past shows visited. Visited a good few in Notts / Derby area in past 40 years !

Did not know Philip Green & Mike Ashley are modellers of railways?

Did see Mike Ashley had a good boozing session just down the road in Alfreton a while back!  & not invited.

Very high signal box tower !

But a very nice photo - thanks

  4. Since I have rekindled my interest in model railways I have seen several of the Mailcoach range advertised on the well know auction site.

In my earlier years these seemed to pass me by.

Has anyone a full list of their previous range please.

I have seen another website showing several kits but there only seems to be a few of the kits that have surfaced recently.

Of note I saw a 66 foot LNER sleeper coach advertised in the last few days.

Obviously these are all rare now but seems no history is available.

Cannot remember ever seeing a trade stand at a show offering these models years ago.

    thanks

Looking at this brings back the fond memories of the Sunday visits to Crewe,  Swindon, Doncaster & Glasgow works 1970/80's !

not all on the same day.

Great times in ''British'' Railway Workshops history.

From these went on to 25 years working at Derby Locomotive Works !

    thanks

Beside the topic heading on the 'View New Content' page is either a star or a black circle. (Black star if you have commented on said post. Grey star if your comment was the last post made)

Hover your mouse cursor over this and see that it suggests 'Go to first unread post'. I usually right click on this and open the post in a new tab.

    Gentlemen,

    for both replies, thanks.

    BIG help

  7. As just got up, well had Breakfast with ''Billy the/our Parrot'' first obviously.

when I click on, View new content it always or seems to visit the first page in a topic & I have to then click to last page & scroll down.

Is this always the case ?

thought I may go straight to the latest added comment & one can then easily scroll up.

Anyway first look in this topic as usually get up early but as work 12 hour nights on & off live in the other world to everyday modellers.

If its a weather page got up as the its bright sunshine at junction 28, M1 land,

To be fair the the seller, he lists it as a pair of wagons!

    Hello.

Is not the price of Brass now higher than Gold ?

  9. If you where travelling 3rd class in 1850 AD would it matter if the door was 3 mm narrow?

But then millimetres may not have been even been invented.

Any Hornby errors could be retro made to the original coach also.

Then are we not in the perfect world again.

    Just order 3 (Am happy)...

Ho just asking - couplings ? on the model.

  10. Hi,

    Just read the topic.

As a returning modeller, I see that the good bit  above is clear that like if I wished for a trade order the best advice is to ask on your RM web on advice as to the required goods to give a clear order.

I think I have asked suppliers recently :-

I have purchased a XXX kit can you please supply the required bits.  basically as just that.

perhaps typing in the magic kit details did not help at first in a search here.

Of note above I saw a reference to offering a good user friendly illustrated web site that can help a potential customer,

exploring their good sites can give a wealth of modelling ideas on super detailing.

Complimented the ''high level kits owner;; recently after an interesting visit to his web site & the wealth of information I received on his products to aid model building after seeing the name mentioned here in RM many times.

    thanks

    Peter
