  1. Without a Cold War-esque spy inside Grafar, planted by Revolution or Dapol, there really is no way to know, and the ‘Card to chest’ approach really does mean you just don’t know. If Dapol did do a 90 they could have a 3-piece book set with coaches, loco and DVT, which will reduce the price than buying a loco separately from a competing manufacturer. If Graham Farish does a 90 then who knows what liveries can go with it, and maybe their Mk2 DBSO can be painted in ‘One’ colours, as that livery needs more representation in N gauge.

  2. I’m also looking forward to this release, I’m looking to buy the DB management set. I plan to run it in conjunction with my 2 Mk3 Stag sleepers from KMS railtech, with the explanation that DB needed some extra sleeper coaches for a touring trip with some top executives, and leased the 2 mk3s from CS, who sent the 2 stag livery examples to give a good impression to the visiting executives.

  3. I would presume that is due to being more prototypical, something which is almost a legal requirement in exhibitions. I am looking currently for any information regarding TINGS in September in 2020, if that will go ahead, and if Mr. Kato will be in attendance. My favourite livery for the IET/Bi-mode/80X stock would probably TPE/Hull trains, and if we don’t get one livery who knows, maybe the likes of KMS rail tech will commission extra (Keeping in mind the sets for the First Open access scheme in the ECML and the order by Avanti!)

  4. I’m unsure about those myself but I would believe they would be for departmental/charter use. It’s actually Fastline instead of Serco. Doesn’t make much sense to me to offer those as they are very obscure wagons (To the point of people not knowing about their existence) and to offer those instead of a livery like Caledonian Sleeper green is an interesting decision.

  5. It depends, the 89 has either a lot of hope or none depending on a few key things -

The availability of good-quality coaches in the appropriate liveries to run behind it (Hornby Mk4s, OO Cavalex Mk4s, N) And the price. The model is one of those things that is a key “plot-hole” and has a lot of prototypical use, having ran on the WCML and ECML. However it is one of those that is in popular demand, but still too niche. If Revolution do produce this I predict they may have some trouble getting it off the ground.

  6. I also wonder why an HAA would be needed, in my mind Revolution’s output should be solely focused on the models that otherwise just wouldn’t make it, and while the HAA is a key model for those depicting that era I think it would be a poor deployment of Revolution’s skill set and exclusivity. However the Bachmann examples seem good, and I understand why people would want a new tooling, I just don’t think that’s a revolution model-in-waiting

Having a clear out pending a possible house move. I have a complete set of model rail magazines from No 1 right up to current issue. Free to a good home or off to recycle. Would prefer they all go as one rather than odd ones here and there. Thanks

Slightly concerned about postage but oh well...

  8. Of course, I am merely suggesting a way to further compliment their extensive media and discussion threads. A platform to officially suggest something like this would also be great - plus my community on reddit I’d primarily for those who can’t access other sites for whatever reason - age limits etc. Personally I would like to see some more multiple units developed, perhaps a 350 Member of the Desiro family. As they use similar components and DCC sound files I can see the feasibility of say, a 360 and 380, or a 450 and 444.
As well as these, Bombardier Electrostars would possibly be a viable product, with similar noises, body shapes and under frame equipment. Obviously those would be a very extensive list of prototypes, so for simplicity’s sake, let’s have:

    A SE 375

    A SE 376

    A SN 377

    A LO 378

    A GWR 387

    A GEX 387

    A HEX 387

    A C2C 387

The 4 different liveries for the 387 (In similar fashion to the 320/321) could start the project, with others coming later.

  9. The risk is definitely still there, plus the 90 may be regarded a more “mainstream” model which one of the giants might pick up soon. I know a friend who could plump for a GNER 89, might take some saving however. The 89 would be a perfect choice for Revolution trains’ mission statement, and practically screams “NICHE MODEL” At anyone who looks at it. A welcome announcement in OO and I will watch the Facebook live eagerly to see what’s coming next for N.

Edit - the GNER 89 would also work well with the upcoming Cavalex models class 91 and mk4s in N, which and with the Hornby 91 and mk4s in OO. This may have been a case of the right loco, at the right time.
