I have a Märklin sound fitted workshop coach and wanted the sound/lights etc., to work using 2-rail wheelsets. By sheer chance i took the plunge and tested the power on the skate and one 2-rail wheel and it worked all the functions. I then cut off the skate leaving the copper strips and put the wheels back with the copper strips pressing against the axles to pick up the current, making sure that both bogies have the insulated wheels on the same side. This should work any cab direction lights, if this coach has them.
