  1. To all of you that responded on my question regarding the Jubilee colour, thank you very much. In the end I went for the Humbrol code 20 acrylic with 3 coats and a final coat of satin varnish. I'm quite pleased with it as it's turned out a close match to some of my coaching stock. Also this was my first attempt at the K's Walschaerts valvegear, bit fiddly but managed it. Not perfect I know but its good enough for me. Now what to build next? I have a collection of more than 40 kits as my retirement plan !

  3. Thanks to all for your helpful replies :) I used a matt grey primer from the Humbrol range. I'll look at getting RC423 if still available. Noting the shipping issue now. Silly really for a water based acrylic.
  4. Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help me with the following. I'm building a K's Jubilee and wish to paint it in the LMS red similar to the colour carried by 5690 Leander. I have tried the Humbrol range No 20 but it comes out too pink. I have tried Humbrol RC423 but it seems too dark. Any recommendations please? I am living overseas with only very limited access to any modelling material unfortunately.
  5. Thanks all for the prompt responses. I've ordered some from Wizard Models.
  6. Hi, Happy Christmas to my fellow K's modellers. I wonder if someone can give me a bit of advice please? I am building a Jubilee, however most of the rivets for the valvegear have gone missing over the years it has been in storage. They are so tiny!! Can anybody suggest a source for replacements or any ideas of a suitable alternative I can use please ? Regards David
  7. You can't beat the old Triang 0-6-0 chassis and X04 motor !
  8. Perfect, made my day. Thank you Hayfield. Now I have no excuses ! David
  9. Hi, I appreciate that most of you are experienced K's modellers but and would think my request rather basic but I would be grateful if anyone has a copy of the instructions for building the L25 70 Series Class 55XX 2-6-2 GWR Tank. I purchased one recently, knowing that it didn't have the instructions but I guess I over estimated my skills with this although I have built a few Ks models before. The bag of small screws and assembling the front and rear trucks are confusing me no end. Any assistance, or guidance where to try would be very much appreciated.
