  1. Bachmann have announced another batch of detailed Mk1 coaches. All great etc, but odd random coaches, in all different liveries & regions makes creating a full set impossible. It would be so helpful if someone (AS that's you) released complete rakes of coaches.

To complete your rakes there's Mk1 buffet cars & BGs that are hard to source.

Speaking to the guys today at the nec they said apparently they got an announcement end of may and it’s a big one. If you like the 66s it’s in the same era as them so make of that what you will

    cheers Craig

    Classes 375-377 fit.

Don’t see there being any possibility of a 47. With Bachmann’s being as good as it is, what would make it viable? Ok, Bachmann are not releasing many, but they could change that quickly if there was competition announced.

Deliberately not mentioned Heljan as the Bachmann model is superior in my opinion and, therefore, the greater competition.

The 47 is like the 37, a huge market & range to cover. 47.601/901 anyone?

    Hi everyone,

37108 is making swift progress. Anyone on the M6 between Stafford and Birmingham should keep an eye out for it!

I better start packing my bag!

    Cheers!

Accurascale moves into modelling 1:1 models of defunct loco types, DCC fitted with sound ad a lot of batteries 🤣

Hello all, I am quite new to the hobby and I only just started looking at Accurascale, your diesel locos certainly sparked interest for me! Also after seeing the recent SNG action, I realized there really is no modern MK1 options available in the market, perhaps your team could tap into that? That'd be awesome!

    Imagine heritage railway rakes!

Just simple Mk1 models of each region, elusive SO/SK/BGs would be good too to build a full rake and S prefix in blue/grey. So much scope in an unfulfilled market. I've never been able to complete WR rakes in any livery without renumbering.

In your opinion of course , How many times do we hear “ they’d sell” which roughly translated means “ It’s what I want “.

I hear electrostar a lot - is this purely a london area unit ?( besides the rainbow colours with each franchise change ), if so how many people model the contemporary third rail railway ?

    A fraction of a fraction I’d guess at .

As a model manufacturer surely you go after the most popular stuff , financial gambles not really needed ?

As far as I know, Kings Lynn, Peterborough, Bedford, and Cardiff are not in London. Nor Brighton, Dover or Southend.

You can model most Southern Routes, LTS, Great Eastern, Great Northern, Midland and Great Western. No other unit type offers this, so that's half the British population covered!

In time these units will spread North, but as tested on the WCML from Crewe (not in London), anyone could model them.

PS - Southern class 401,402,403,410,411,412,414,416,419,423,450,466,438,491 units have sold well enough, so clearly plenty of Southern DC modellers out there!

There’s lots of units to go at, but can they be produced at a price point that sells ? Bachmann eye watering EMU prices are a case in hand .

If I was Accura I’d watch and see how the revolution 321 goes first

Based on the AS prices for Irish units, I think we're fine.

If they're the quality of the Mk 2Bs, they'd sell and with AS sales model, they'd manufacture to demand in batches.

The Electrostar would be the best for this, livery after livery and new liveries to follow in the real world.

  8. Well my blue/grey rake has arrived & been tested. At the front I have the A/S siphon G newspaper van, followed by 6 TSOs, a Mainline RBR and a FK+BFK. The RBR renumbered as W1644 looks fine in daylight but in the dark the lack of lighting stands out.

I timed the lights after turning off the power. They fade slowly with the first going off about 4 mins, the last went off at 5m30s.

Below are some pics of the interiors with lights on. You can actually also see the WC through the obscured glass and if you wait about 2-3 mins after power off can actually get a pic showing that.

All I need now is an A/S BG and buffet car with a W prefix!
