  1. Good evening all, some 15 hours since last read of the thread! Tea (so much controversial discussion!) Surely, what one consumes is a personal taste. How the desired beverage is produced for your consumption may not meet your desired requirements. However, instead of asking for a pot of tea, why not request the ingredients to your specification to be assembled by you? For me, if I am producing my own cup of tea, I will leave the teabag in and drink until it slaps me on the nose. Then, I will mash a second cup. My ingredients: tea bag and hot water. Milk, sugar, any other additives, no show!
  2. Another afficianado of the Music Fidelity marque, I see! My own (customised - had the rack fitting removed!) PreAmp has, alas, not seen the light of day since I moved jobs in 1997. (My EAR509 monoblock power amps find themselves in a similar state!) Where one of my B&W DM11 speakers disappeared to in my most recent move is another question. One day, I might find myself able to re-build the system, but that may remain a mere pipe-dream for now!
  3. My first boss filled one of his teeth with Isopon P38 car filler! Again, this is not a recommendation.
  4. I suggest you have the wrong ranks there! For 'Captain' and 'First Officer', read Sub Lieutenant and for 'Helmsman', read Chief Petty Officer. But what the heck, it's only The Navy Lark!
  5. Tomorrow's breakfast and lunch now in captivity courtesy of two Tess & Co's meal deal.
  6. Happy Sunday! Plans for today: buy tomorrow's lunch! Back in the day when I had a half decent HiFi system (Ariston turntable with an Ortofon MC20 cartridge, Music Fidelity Pre-amp (factory customised) EAR valve power amps and B&W DM11 speakers) I hankered after (but never acquired) the Nakamichi Dragon cassette deck. It was an auto-reverse player but with only two pickup heads; to play the other 'side' of the cassette, it would push the cassette compartment door out from the machine the rotate the cassette then pull everything back to play the other side. At in excess of £900, I gave it a miss.
  7. Don't forget to wash / sanitize your hands between tasks!
  8. O(w)nly the Lonely - Roy Orbison
  9. Hi, Everybody has their own take on good and bad food. For me, home made chips are Marris Piper potatoes, cubed and lightly simmered for about 10 minutes or until 'fluffy'. They are then drained and put into an oven proof pan atop a light sprinkling ov EVOO with a mix of herbs and seasoning. A further application of the substrate is then applied to the exposed upper before they put into an ordinary oven for about an hour.
  10. Hi! Just been browsing the last few pages to see what goes on here. Looks very informal and relaxed so far! JohnDMJ: (seen before I found the multiquote button, sorry!) - sweetcorn straigh from the husk is delicious! Do I recall a similar tinned product from The Jolly Green Giant? Now, having discovered the yellow multiquote button: Presumably, they'll be delivering the new liner and instlling it to ensure its right? Is the term 'multiquote' a misnoma? It seems from the above use that it allows multiple posts to be quoted but not multiple quotes of individual pposts which may make several commentable points!
