  1. Does anybody know of any depots/sheds banking engines would be stabled at? I know of the ones for the Lickey, Shap and Beattock inclines (Bromsgrove, Tebay and Beattock stations respectively) but more examples would be welcomed.
  2. Does anybody know where i can get a double chimney for a Hornby A4, or what the part code for such a piece would be?
  3. Do they fit in the PECO ffestiniog slate wagons? btw i'm talking about these: (image from oliva's trains)
  4. Dapol have done that combination, as number 4S-041-006, which is the one i'm looking for if i do go with the Dapol version. really it comes down to which i find first at the model shows i'm going to in December and March.
  5. does the second run include a BR green with early crest livery?
  6. Which is the better model? I want to use one as a banking/commuter engine on my layout but i can't decide between the 2 manufacturers.
  7. wagon-wise i'm planning on using either 16 ton mineral wagons or private owner 5 and 7 plank wagons, not 21 ton wagons
  8. i was thinking either a class 08, austerity saddle tank, or an andrew barclay 0-4-0
  9. No confusion between tipplers and weighbridges. I intend to use a side tippler, like this one: from the layout "Green Street" (http://www.clag.org.uk/green13.html)
  10. would i be correct in assuming that locomotives were forbidden from moving onto a wagon tippler due to their weight?
  11. does anybody make an RTR OO gauge fireless locomotive?
  12. oooh that does match my requirements quite well
  13. Nice! and it's on the NLS maps too even though the power station does sit on the border of 2 map sections (which is annoying)
  14. if you find such an example please do share it
  15. What I'm after is a power station with a couple sidings for the coal wagons (one for full wagons, one for empties, each long enough for 15 wagons) and a shorter siding for the tippler (about 5 wagons long).
  16. another example of a power station of the size i'm looking for is the lansil one at caton road Though i can't find any at a larger resolution than 2 from britain from above.
  17. where would be a good place to look for 50's era maps? the only ones i can find with any real detail are pre ww2 Size wise i'm looking for things like the one in Worcester or Broomgrove's in Hastings or the one that was in the lune industrial estate
  18. How were power station sidings (pre Merry-Go-Round trains) laid out? Did they have exchange sidings at the mainline? How many sidings for coal wagons would they have?
  19. another question, would it be acceptable for the loco to push the train in one direction along the branch and pull it the other direction?
  20. i'm only using the jinty/austerity as i currently lack a peckett or pug (though i intend to resolve that issue when i can)
  21. i'm planning for a freelance colliery line ran by a private owner tank engine (repainted jinty or austerity) that runs from the mine to a set of exchange sidings with a couple of metcalfes crofters cottages to represent workers cottages and putting a little platform on one of the sidings for the train (a pair of hattons genesis coaches) to pick up workers at.
  22. Where would they have gone to collect the workers? Did they have a platform at exchange sidings or would the train go to a mainline station?
  23. I've tried removing one of the loops to see if it helps, unfortunately it didn't make a difference. I'm currently contemplating either: Gluing magnets onto the ends of the wagons, or Grafting the skip part of the wagons onto PECO slate wagons with the sides removed.
  24. Has anybody had issues getting the couplings on Pecos GR-330 V skip wagons in brown to behave? Mine won't couple to anything without "hand of god" intervention or a dip in the track.
