  1. Seeking an unmolested 0 gauge Heljan class 20 locomotive in green with SYWP and Head code Discs. Unfortunately l am unable to find the Heljan ref code, can anyone help? Good home waiting! Cheers Bob C
  2. I d like to say a very big thank you to everyone who chipped in to help with this thread. Gentlemen, thank you all very much for your contributions. you ve provided some great links etc, and pointed me in he right direction for further research. I am indebted to you all Cheers Bob C
  3. Hi Ralf Many thanks for the link, l ll see what l can find......... Much appreciated Bob C
  4. Hi WG Thanks for the reply. Sorry the NLS site? I ve been through the maps on the "Old Maps" web site, which has been useful. There is one book in particular l ve seen by David Ross called "The Great North of Scotland Railway". It has a great photo of MacDuff on the cover, could that be the one you are thinking of? Cheers Bob C
  5. I am doing some research into the Railways around Mac Duff, with a focus on Mac Duff station itself. I have seen a few books on the subject advertised, can anyone recommend any in particular, especially if any contain plans or diagrams of the station and associated buildings at Mac Duff its self? Many thanks in advance Bob C
  6. Thank you so much for finding this for me,its very much appreciated Cheers Bob C
  7. Many thanks, that's an option l d not considered Cheers Bob C
  8. I suspect that buffer locking will also happen with a bogie coach, due to the swing of the coach?
  9. Hi Paul In all honest truth that's what l was half expecting to hear. Shame as l d have loved to get my hands on one of their 7 mm scale resin Colonel Stevens corrugated station kits. Oh well out with the plastic card again !! Cheers Bob C
  10. Hi Tim That's my fall back position, l was hoping someone on RMweb had dealt with them recently. Its always been worth a try. Bob C
  11. Many thanks for taking the time to post this, it helps a lot Cheers Bob C
  12. Does anyone know if Blackberry Way kits are still trading? I ve tracked down an address in the Birmingham area but don't know if this is up to date?
  13. I thought l d ask in the off chance, just before l buy a 1/2 circle of Peco 0 gauge setrack curves, has anyone else tried a Terrier with rolling stock on this radius? I m hoping that with the Terrier only being 7 1/2 inches long, it manages not to buffer lock with what ever its pulling? Bob C
  14. Many thanks for that Hal Nail, found them! Happy Bunny again Bob C
  15. Just a quick question to those in the know. I note that Dapol has now release an ex IOW version of the terrier, numbered 32650, with extended bunker and Westinghouse pump. However l note that the model appears to be missing its elbow style lamp brackets from the smoke box door frame. Checking through photos of 32650, she carried these almost all of her BR life abet with one missing in the 1960s Does anyone know if theses items are available as an after market item? Many thanks in advance Bob C
  16. Well I m happy to report that the problem has been solved. I took my courage in both hands and decided to investigate the issue further. On removing the body from the power car unit i found a printed circuit board running the length of the coach. On either end of the board there were fly leads coming up from the coach coupling assemblies which terminated on the board. A quick check with the meter confirmed that they were the motor supply feeds, so l de soldered them and reversed them to swop the polarity at each end of the board. Model now runs in the correct direction, with correct directional lighting as well. I left it running for about half an hour in each direction with no smell of burning or smoking from the cct board or any of its components Happy Bunny Bob C
  17. Hi john Not knowing the internal wiring configuration l tried turning the the power car around to see if that made any difference, unfortunately not, as the power car still ran backward in relation to the controller setting. However your comment re three sockets has me thinking. The power car appears to have traction tyres on all eight wheels and therefore gains power from the coaches attached to it, l wonder if it is an issue with one of these sockets? Bob C
  18. Hi Gents I m the customer who purchased the Roco ICE. Mike has been most helpful kindly posting on my behalf. Allegheny, I initially thought the same, in that it was an issue with the directional lights. However l noticed that the lights lit correctly for the direction that the controller was set in, leading me to suspect it could be a polarity issue with the feed to the motor. Being a tad old fashioned l m still an analogue user, so if right l m hoping it will be a simple fix either at the DCC blanking plate or swapping the motor feeds at the motor. Funnily this is the second version of this model l have received which displays this fault, has any other owners had similar problems? Bob C

  20. Many thanks Eastglosmogs, l think something similar is the route for me to go. A little bit of experimenting required here, but is not that half the fun!! Once again many thanks for your suggestion Bob C
  21. Thanks for that suggestion Sol. I found myself last night thinking more along the lines of Eastglosmog's suggestion, l was thinking of making a small rubber sleeve which could be slipped on to the tie bar spigot to prevent the motor operating arm raising and thereby becoming disconnected. I think some variation is the way to go Thank you once again Bob C
  22. Hi HLT I had though about that but it also seems to happen when the tie bar is being pulled. At first l suspected an alignment issue so lifted the offending motors and repositioned them, alas with no improvement. The motors were level sitting on the same cork base as the points themselves, and the lateral play in the point motor link seemed sufficient to cope with a fair amount of horizontal misalignment. Lifting the motor on the far side from the point is something l could try however when l initially looked at this there still seemed to be a lot of vertical movement in the point motor link, requiring a fair amount of off side packing. Worth another look though Thanks
  23. Hi Charlie Thanks for your advice. Currently the motors are glued down with PVA glue, to allow me to change them if required. They are mounted on the same cork base that the points are, so l believe all is square and level. I have given thought to a similar remedy as you ve suggested, in that l was contemplating carefully drilling a small vertical hole down into the point tie bar spigot and fitting some kind of "cap" to prevent the drive arm from lifting . However the points are now in situ at the rear of the layout and drilling accurately will be most difficult, so your idea of using a dab of superglue to form a cap sounds most interesting. Thanks again Charlie Regards Bob C
