  1. Many Thanks for the heads up Kev, I ll order a copy off Ebay today Cheers Bob C
  2. I wonder if any RMweb members can help me please? I am trying to trace evidence of D6840 working in the Ayrshire area in 1967-68. My research has so far has confirmed she with allocated to Eastfield Depot on the 31/12/1966 and remained there for about 18 months. So far l have been unable to identify what work she was allocated to. I am hoping to find that she may have worked down as far as Falkland yard, just north of Ayr during her stay in Scotland. Can anyone confirm this? Fingers Crossed Bob C
  3. Hi Julian Thanks for the reply, I ve got the Santona book and the August/September 1980 Railway Modellers that the P4 version featured in, I was hoping to find some photos or info on the 7mm version which had more trackwork than the original P4 version Bob C
  4. Can anyone please help? I am trying to track down any photos or information regarding Ian Futer's 0 gauge version of his "lochside" layout. The original 4mm layout was on the exhibition circuit in the early 1980s, Ian then later built a 7mm version with more sidings etc. Any information or pointers as to where l might find such, would be gratefully appreciated. Fingers crossed Bob C
  5. Hi Wheatley Many thanks for taking the time to reply That's just what l was hoping to hear, many thanks for confirming what l suspected. I ll have to see if I can find a copy of George O/Hara's book.
  6. Does anyone know what livery Class 122 Bubble car W55000 was in when it arrived at Ayr depot in February 1967 ? I suspect it was still in Green with SYWP but would love to have that confirmed. Fingers crossed Bob C
  7. Wanted : Heljan 2000 0 gauge Disc Head Code Class 20 in Green livery with SYWP Non DCC. Good home awaiting! Please PM me with details Thanks
  8. Thank you for that suggestion, l had wonder if that was the way to go, but l am aware that you have to be accurate with the tighter curves so as not to produce tight spots, so I would need a template to avoid this Bob C
  9. Hi Kevin That's a solution l had not considered. Thanks
  10. Hi Simon Thanks for your reply. Yes l totally agree that the 61xx many well be the issue here, l just wanted to check before forking out for a half set of curves only to find out that l can't use them. I have in mind something along the lines of the "Simply for pleasure" layout for the June (I think) 1974 Railway Modeller This was a simple 00 gauge 6 x 4 ft roundy style layout. I have 16 x 11 ft which is more than twice the size of the original. however i m sure its not just a question of doubling up the sizes. When working this out l ve used the conversion factor of 12 inches in 00 equates to 21 inches in 0 gauge, that would would mean the 6 x 4 00 gauge layout would be 101/2 ft x 7ft in 0 gauge, having the extra few feet should make things easier l hope! Bob C
  11. Has anyone tried running a Lionheart B set with small loco (Pannier tank) around Peco 0 gauge setrack curves? Is there buffer locking problems? I ask as l have seen mention that Heljans 61xx large 2-6-2 tanks are capable of traversing around 40.5 inch radius curves, however Heljan recommend 60 inches as minimum to prevent buffer locking. This got me wondering if this problem also exists with smaller locos? Bob C
  12. Just a couple more Ade, this time showing the engine shed
  13. You are Welcome Ade, I have to admit whilst it is an unusual station, it does have its own charm. I am looking to seeing how the model develops. Cheers Bob C I
  14. Hi Ade, l found these two photos on line, l suspect you ve already got these in your collection, but l thought l d pop them on just in case Cheers Bob C
  15. Thanks for the suggestion Keith, as it happens l m already chatting to him! Cheers Bob C
  16. Many thanks "Innerhome" l ll look that photo up, at 1949 its a little early for my chosen period, but at least it proves l m not going mad and did'nt imagine it! Bob C
  17. Can any RM member help please? I am trying to confirm if 64xx pannier tanks were used on the Wrexham to Bala auto trains in the 1950s. I am sure l have seen or noted comments possibly here within the RMweb which mentioned that they were used. An internet search brought up one of Coachmans photos depicting a 64xx with a single auto coach on his Carrog layout. And l m sure l ve seen mention of this service at Bala town. Can anyone shed any light on this please? Fingers crossed Bob C
  18. Many Thanks for your advice, and additional photo, it all helps! cheers Bob C
  19. Good evening fellow RMweb members, I m hoping someone can help me? I am constructing some buildings in 7 mm for a planned 0 gauge Tetbury Branch extension to "Kingscote" layout I am currently working on. I have noted that the buildings at Tetbury were constructed in a blueish brick, not the more commonly modeled red/orange type. Can anyone recommend a suitable colour for this blue brickwork?. In the past l ve used RAF uniform blue for picking out engineering brick in buildings, but think a whole building finished in this colour would look wrong. I ve attached a photo of Tetbury Goodshed, which shows the type of colour l m trying to achieve, although it can be seen that this structure is made up of different coloured brick bands, but there is an over all blueish finish l d like to capture. Fingers crossed Bob C

  21. Sorry Paul l missed the thread above, which suggests the model in question is in 70s condition?. Thanks for the link, but l currently cannot access that web site from my present location Bob C
  22. Gents could someone help me out here, this model is listed on Tower Models web site as the earlier of the pre TOPS brake vans, l note it has electrification flashes ,what time frame does this fit in to please? Bob C
  23. Hoping someone can assist me I wonder if any one within RMweb community would be interested in constructing a Parkside Dundas 0 gauge GWR Toad Brake van kit (PS44) on my behalf? If so please PM me for details costs etc Many thanks in advance Bob C
