  1. For those who would like to see it here’s the photo… Some are for current projects, some for future things. Any ideas?
  2. Evening all, Well there is quite a simple reason for copying the as preserved van - the owner helped us with the model and it was only fair that we produced their van. Also statistically the preserved vehicles often outsell the ‘heritage’ ones. - even if they are not quite right. However, after some consideration we will make the van fit for service life rather than preserved life. Andy

Design work is almost finished and we hope to have a sample in the spring. Until then here are the latest CADs to show progress. Andy
  4. I think we still have a small number available to order direct via our website.
  5. Not so much an error as the factory found a way to do it that met our requirements after the publication of the newsletter! Not going to complain - the interior is fantastic and should be seen!
  6. it could be possible. The sets will however come with two chimneys - one up and one down!
  7. Personally - I’d love to see one! I did one of my university essays on said locomotive and have the intention or one day writing a small book about it. If someone does I they can take my money! Oh - all the new dyno cars on my desk look stunning. I will post some photos tomorrow.
  8. I apologise - baby came along and its been a little mental for various reasons. Currently getting back into the several hundred that have accumulated in the last 10 days - I will go rooting for any you have sent. Andy
  9. Please remember the first run was a commission - and as such it was produced the way they wanted it. This run is solely our responsibility as it’s a general release and as it happens Mike Trice has kindly been helping us. Andy
  10. You might not have long to wait to find out. Until then - here is a pretty picture... Andy
  11. I wouldn't dream of trying to duplicate something like that, that has been done so recently and to a good standard. I like those coaches and have quite a number in my personal collection and will likely buy a few more in the future. I feel we should complement each other where we can. Andy
  12. You know how much I would like to! You must let me know when and where they are so I can see what I can do.
  13. That's a very useful fact! I might just have to borrow that... Andy
  14. Well you only have to ask! so these renders show the current position - they were done as we had a newsletter due and people like to see the current progress. They are not indicative of any product and nor are they at a point where we will start cutting metal. Simply - as Graham says, they are just the current state of progress. A number of revisions are required to several areas that we are aware of. Once we have the model to a point where we think it is correct we will get it checked by some experts in the field - we already have some LBSC experts and members of the Brighton Circle who have offered to help. That said - there we always like peoples feedback and thoughts so do please let us know what corrections you think are required (I don’t like flaw - sounds a bit harsh). I am happy for people to post here or in a private message etc. Please bear with me if I’m slow or don’t respond though - I have a baby due (the wife is currently in the early stages of labour here) and as you may imagine the E1 is not the top of the priority list…. Thanks in advance - I look forward to everyone’s feedback. Andy
  15. Interestingly they follow the RCH specs - but I have yet to find two identical underframes in terms of rivet pattern etc etc. the result is to produce another wagon (nominally with the same chassis) it will likely require a new set of tooling. It does help with the CAD aspect mind…
  16. The factory are making great progress with the next batch of Dynamometer cars. Lining and lettering is being added to the bodyshells whilst the interiors and underframes are being assembled. Not long until they are ready!
  17. No problem at all - it’s what we are here for!
  18. A quick check of my notes… SKU940022 and SKU940023 (S27915 and S27930) were both IoW examples. We have a photographic evidence of both of these on the island in the condition we are producing thanks to help from Mike King (who to be honest we can blame for these wagons as I think he suggested them to us whilst helping with the SECR projects) Andy
  19. They do! I will have to check which ones but we did pick a couple. Andy
  20. You are correct. One of several things we are asking to be corrected. Andy
  21. Rapido Trains UK is to produce the Southern Railways’ most numerous wagon, the distinctive eight-plank open. Choosing an eight-plank design set the Southern apart from most other railway companies. However, the standard body, with its large, lower drop door with and smaller ‘cupboard’ doors, was used for several different diagrams of wagon. Rapido Trains UK is to produce two of these diagrams, the 1379 and the 1400. The Diagram 1379 was the first eight-plank design to be introduced and 7,950 were built between 1926 and 1933. This made the Dia.1379 the most numerous SR wagon. They featured a standard RCH underframe with 9ft wheelbase and, originally, all were unfitted. The first 3,000 were built with Morton brakes but this was subsequently changed to what the SR called ‘Freighter’ brakes. In 1935, the SR increased the wheelbase to 10ft. The first wagons with this wheelbase were fitted with vacuum brakes. However, two batches of unfitted 10ft wagons were built during 1936 and 1937. These 1,400 vehicles were, fittingly, given the diagram number 1400. They re-used old wheelsets but the chassis and bodies were new and they were fitted with Freighter brakes. Our all-new model features a number of alternative parts to allow us to make the most comprehensive model of an SR eight-plank wagon yet. We have tooled parts to produce both 9ft and 10ft wheelbase, Morton and Freighter brakes along with disc and split-spoked wheels. Both diagrams carried SR pre-36 and post-36 brown livery followed by BR freight grey along with a few departmental liveries. The wagons were seen widely across the railway network -including the Isle of Wight where 88 examples of dia.1379 wagons were sent, several which we have chosen to produce. Some wagons were retro-fitted with vacuum brakes by British Railways. If there is demand, we will consider tooling this variant in the future.
