In a similar vein. Would there be a market for manufacturers of 25kv units, to do unpowered ones, so they can be put between barrier vehicles and towed? As I have no overheads, they are not for me, but would certainly buy a couple of “dummy” sets to put between barrier vehicles. They would obviously need no lights, power, working pantograph etc, so would expect to retail slightly cheaper.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, apologies if it has. For those modelling 1015, also worth noting it’s lamp brackets on A end are the “wrong” way round. The ridges on the brackets face inwards, where as I am pretty sure all other cabs of Thousands they face outwards. They are the same now, and the picture above proves in was the case when it was built or at least very soon afterwards , rather than the result of a repair. We have always suspected a Friday after job when it was being built.

Has anybody had to change motors, in their Dapol thousand? One of mine seems to have issues, I can not find any spares online, I was just wondering if anybody had replaced theirs with a motor from a different loco, that’s fits ok? As DC only, not too worried about wiring back up via the board, as lights on a thousand in daylight running not really necessary. Many thanks
