Cheers John although TBH I think that it actualy looks better as the increesed width of the building due to the smaller scale makes the building more imposing somehow!

    Norton East

As a break from my recent modelling in 00 over the past couple of years this weekend has seen me move back to N gauge to build one of my westcoast station buildings for a fellow RM Web member. I have to addmitt that I realy have enjoyed this build and I now have the urge to do some more work on my own N gauge layout that has been mothballed for the past three years.
  3. Cheers Dave. I dont actualy own any EMUs as yet so I had to borrow some stock for the show although I do have a 304 and a 310/312 on my shopping list!
  4. Qualitys not as good as I would have liked as im having a few issues with a change of software but here is Potters lane's first outing with the new fiddle yards..

    Showtime !

Currently I have Potters lane stuck in the middle of our living room whilst I try and get it ready for its next outing in two weeks. The layout has been invited to the NRM Locomotion museum at Shildon for an event being organised by the Shildon MRC. This outing will be another milestone in the devlopment of this YMR module layout as it will be used for the first time with the two new fiddle yards that im also constructing for the YMR show in september. The fiddle yards take the form of three road transversers that are 6'6" long and each road can accomidate a loco + 5 coaches or my 6 car APT. With the fiddle yards attached the layouts overall length increeses from 6' to 19'! At Shildon the layout will play host to a few visiting locos belonging to modellers from other forums that im part of. So if you are from the north east of england why not pop down to Shildon on the 5-6 June and say hi. Just look for the WCML gantry spanning the layout. B)

    Back on RMweb

Well guys after waiting untill RMweb finaly settled down after changing to the new format I thought it was about time that I got posting again. Please bare with me as im just getting my head round this 'blog' style of posting. Also I have somehow accidently created two blogs ! Ok introductions first.. My name is Dave and some of you will be fimilar with my current layout projects from the old RMweb. Currently I have four layout projects on the go and all are based on the WCML. My bigest project is my 00 gauge heatherburn garden railway. This is now into it's fourth year and is still not fully operational! Above the indoor section of the garden railway sits my N gauge layout Trumptonshire. This is a 10'x6' split level layout and has taken a back seat over the past couple of years whilst I work on other projects. Layout number three is a layout that im building for a friend in a spare 12'x11'room. The layout is based loosly on Manchester Piccadilly and is being built on three levels. Lastly is my 00 gauge module Potters lane that is being built as part of the YMR forum module layout and is due to be shown at their show down in cornwall in september. Im not sure if any of the old layout threads are still available on RMweb but if I do manage to locate them I will post the links here. Right... currently I have Potters lane set up in the living room whilst I try and get it finished for it's next outing in a couple of weeks. Those that followed to origanal thread will be fimilar with the layouts construction using foamex board and an old interior door. Since the last time I posted here the layout has attended a couple of local shows as a work in progress. The first outing was back in december with an invitation to the Perth green model railway club open day. Whilst there the layout was spotted by the Birtley club and appeared at their show in feb. This show was intresting as the public were voting for the layout as best at show but as we were there as a trade stand the layout was disqualified. Still I was happy that our unfinished layout was getting a lot of attention and we also received another couple of show invites. A week later it was back to Jarrow for the Perth green show and by this time the OHLE was finished. The layouts next outing will be in three weeks time at the Shildon clubs open weekend that is being held at the NRM's locomotion museum Shildon on 5-6 June. As well as Potters lane being a part of the YMR module setup I will also be building the fiddle yards so im hoping to test these at the Shildon show as our living room is not quite big enough!
