I think it is time to retire the PC Models version of these 1906-1910 cross country sets.
I've just taken delivery of the EFE set and given them the once over. I am impressed.
I run both my old PC kit built and the delightful EFE releases on my layout, with the PC on tracks further from the front of the layout.

To say the least @Graham_Muz it's not going to be easy choosing my Wagon of the Year when it comes to the eventual pollings... going to be a smackdown between Iron Mink and these methinks.
Come on Gareth it's got to be the LSWR 10T van! Iron mink OK but not really in same class.

I am delighted with my LSWR Cross Country set and the 10T Van. Prompted me to produce a short YouTube video. Yes I know the SDJR loco is a 1P and not a P1! Other bloopers and errors please point out.- 4

Yes it was indeed good to be back at Edington An excellent show and really friendly operators baa none!
Shame that those exhibiting were not able to do Frome as well. Another excellent show, organised by Wessex Association of Model Railway Clubs.

That's a wild idea. First of all you need (at least) two lengths. Then the roof, clerestory/not, flat/curved profile. These two seem the most obvious to me. There is a possibility it would work I suppose...
Exodus coaches maybe?
Do you mean Exley?😉

Maybe others were as confused as me by the Tool Van and Full Brake in SR livery. Apart from the lining only being on the Full Brake the exquisite lettering on the doors is also different. The Tool Van has one compartment for seating.
Photo below shows the 2 side by side. Full Brake is of course on left.

rather cool Barry. Can you stick a strip of black electrical insulating tape over the back of the tools compartment windows and doors to block the light bleed?
I had assumed the original might have had canvas blinds over the windows so the "bleed" would have been prototypical.

Delighted with the SR 6 wheeled Tool Van

Mine certainly does not sound “weedy” to me. It was fitted with a Zimo decoder and sugar cube speaker by Youchoos and I am delighted with it.

Yes it certainly is good to see a model railway company thriving - especially one which has been so innovative and imaginative. The range of LSWR models has been of special interest to me and all have really impressed. Here's to the next 20 years.

Come on guys, cut Kernow a bit of slack! They have produced another great product and are not doing badly in dealing with a very sizeable stack of preorders. Yes I am sure some things might be improved in their systems but the helpful and friendly nature of their team is top notch. After 7 years wait, a day or two is neither here nor there.

Sorry, Barry, that isn't a Dancehall, dia 1560, which was SECR, but an LBSCR brake. This batch of 11 were on order on 1.1.1923, and Southern wisely let the work proceed. Dia 1576.
Thank you. I have learned something today! I have always believed it was a Dancehall. But it is the same model as Jack posted. And I see he (rightly) identified it as LBSCR.

Modelling, for a change.
This poor old model is a Hornby R6144B and has been part of the Hornby range for at least thirty years.
However it is a reasonably accurate depiction of an exLBSCR brake and needs minimal work to improve both appearance and performance. The rather obvious locating holes need attention as does the underframe.
It costs a third of the lovely exLSWR brake from the same stable, Iain Rice likes them therefore they are worth a punt.
My example is inbound and its rebuilding will be posted.StaySafe
Just caught up with this post. I am really looking forward to the Kernow LSWR Roadvan but that did prompt me to look more closely at older (much older!) stock. I undertook some simple upgrading of my Dancehall a few years back so will be interested to see your progress in due course.

This "fix" may rekindle my interest in getting an S15. I have held off so long because of reported "motor issues".
You won't regret it. Beautiful loco. For the record mine has always been one of my best runners, even with a basic Hattons decoder.

I am using my Heljan TT with Digitrax. The turntable motor is the Heljan analogue but the track is connected to my Digitrax layout using a double frog juicer to sort out polarity. My only real beef is that it may be a 70ft turntable in HO but it of course isn't in 00. So too short for MN and LN classes. Hope that helps.
