  1. Saturday 8 - Sunday 9 June 10am - 4:30pm Saturday 10am - 4pm Sunday Shepton Scout Hall, Rifle Club & SDMRS Clubhouse, Old Wells Road, West Shepton, Somerset BA4 5XN. Quality layouts, traders and refreshments. Plenty of free parking.
  2. I run both my old PC kit built and the delightful EFE releases on my layout, with the PC on tracks further from the front of the layout.
  3. Come on Gareth it's got to be the LSWR 10T van! Iron mink OK but not really in same class.
  4. I am delighted with my LSWR Cross Country set and the 10T Van. Prompted me to produce a short YouTube video. Yes I know the SDJR loco is a 1P and not a P1! Other bloopers and errors please point out.
  5. Hattons really have missed a trick with SDJR coaches. Slated for batch 3 with no projected date. Those who grew impatient and finally decided to buy the probably inferior Hornby version which was recently released are finding they are like hens teeth.
  6. Thanks for a great video. Glad everyone liked the show.
  7. Brilliant. See you later Jerry
  8. Additional information: Admission: Adults £6 accompanied children free Amenities: free parking, easy access, tasty refreshments, raffle Features: 12 layouts, multi gauge test track, heritage and trade stands Regards Barry Harding Vice Chairman Shepton & District MRS Sent from my iPhone🇬🇧 07768904737
  9. Yes it was indeed good to be back at Edington An excellent show and really friendly operators baa none! Shame that those exhibiting were not able to do Frome as well. Another excellent show, organised by Wessex Association of Model Railway Clubs.
  10. Maybe others were as confused as me by the Tool Van and Full Brake in SR livery. Apart from the lining only being on the Full Brake the exquisite lettering on the doors is also different. The Tool Van has one compartment for seating. Photo below shows the 2 side by side. Full Brake is of course on left.
  11. I had assumed the original might have had canvas blinds over the windows so the "bleed" would have been prototypical.
  12. Plenty of excitement today at Broadtemple MPD as the "new" tool van arrives! Neatly fitted on the turntable with P class.
  13. Mine certainly does not sound “weedy” to me. It was fitted with a Zimo decoder and sugar cube speaker by Youchoos and I am delighted with it.
  14. Yes it certainly is good to see a model railway company thriving - especially one which has been so innovative and imaginative. The range of LSWR models has been of special interest to me and all have really impressed. Here's to the next 20 years.
  15. Come on guys, cut Kernow a bit of slack! They have produced another great product and are not doing badly in dealing with a very sizeable stack of preorders. Yes I am sure some things might be improved in their systems but the helpful and friendly nature of their team is top notch. After 7 years wait, a day or two is neither here nor there.
  16. Guard Ernie was delighted to find the paint shop had basically kept the original livery but just added the initials of the new owning company. Perhaps this SR lot won't be so bad after all.
  17. Don't forget the excellent "shortie" Bulleids produced by Hornby to similar high standards to their Maunsells. They will do nicely for me.
  18. Thank you. I have learned something today! I have always believed it was a Dancehall. But it is the same model as Jack posted. And I see he (rightly) identified it as LBSCR.
  19. Just caught up with this post. I am really looking forward to the Kernow LSWR Roadvan but that did prompt me to look more closely at older (much older!) stock. I undertook some simple upgrading of my Dancehall a few years back so will be interested to see your progress in due course.
  20. You won't regret it. Beautiful loco. For the record mine has always been one of my best runners, even with a basic Hattons decoder.
  21. I am using my Heljan TT with Digitrax. The turntable motor is the Heljan analogue but the track is connected to my Digitrax layout using a double frog juicer to sort out polarity. My only real beef is that it may be a 70ft turntable in HO but it of course isn't in 00. So too short for MN and LN classes. Hope that helps.
