    Hi Covkid,

     

    In the DJM thread you asked whether we had "managed to sell the last few Pendolinos."

     

    For clarity, we only produce models to order - all the Pendolinos made were sold before production.

     

    However, Rapido chose to produce some additional models in a different livery (grey doors, rather than stripy doors) and these sold out within 48 hours of being put on sale.

      Ah I see.

      Apologies for the misunderstanding. Not being an N modeller I admit to not being up to speed, but I vaguely remember the N pendolino not quite getting to it's total sales break even point, but was going ahead anyway.

      Hi there,

       

      Yes, you're correct that the Kickstarter campaign narrowly failed.

       

      But the margin was so narrow that if you ignore Kickstarter's cut it would've succeeded.

       

       

      That is why, with Rapido, we came up with "plan B" to cut Kickstarter out of the loop, which is effectively the system we have operated since, with some tweaks as we have learned.

       

      I understand that if you're a 4mm modeller you won't have followed all the ins and outs - I am similarly not up to speed on a lot of the 4mm goings on!

    No, the N Gauge Yahoo group is available to anyone, not just NGS members! However, I will email you the diagram direct. There are some build photos in the egroup photos folder though that may help..
