  1. Can't wait to see this start to take shape. Having looked at this last night I did some research to work out exactly where Basford North station was only to find out that it would have only been a few hundred yards away from where I live now which is on what the track bed from Basford North to Bullwell Common. While the bridge in the background of the station photo is still there very little else still exists. At some point I might have a walk down and have a look and see if any of the buildings in the photo are still in use as I imagine some of the sheds may be used now as part of the industrial estate and business units.
  2. I tend to buy card in bulk from either ebay or amazon 50 sheets of A4 grey 2mm board about £15 with delivery, and 1mm a few pounds cheaper. Also if you look you can also buy card packs for specific scalescenes models with the correct amount of each thickness. I found these cost more overall than buying the packs of 50 if you are building multiple models, but if its first time building one they are ideal.
  3. Thanks, I'll have a look see if I can find that thread as or I'll only be able to cut anything on card. So far it's not been as easy I thought it was going to be to get up and running with the cutter. Hopefully it will all pay off and make cutting out the excellent kits much easier and speed up being able to create them once I've converted the pdf's.
  4. Its the autoblade, so you don't set depth. Material set to copy paper.
  5. Speed was set to 3 and a single pass. The issue wasn't that it hadn't cut, but that the matt just seems to be too sticky. I've created files from the footbridge kit myself and tried to get it to cut a page mounted on thick card, but so far when testing earlier it refused to find the registration marks.
  6. I've tried this as just recently got my Silhouette Cameo 3 and can't get it to cut correctly files that I've done myself. The main issue I have with this is I tried it on paper and it just stuck to the cutting matt so would have been unusable if I was actually wanting to build the kit.
  7. I went through the videos and I only get the load and unload options. I've found this article which explains that its a difference with the cameo 3 https://caughtbydesign.com/2017/03/16/silhouette-basics-loading-the-mat/ I've checked as I have the files with me that I was attempting to cut and its set correctly to the cameo 12 x 12 cutting mat. When i get home going to check that the roller bar is in place correctly.
  8. Only one on the touch screen that I'm seeing. Going to see if there's a firmware update.
  9. Was so excited that I manged to pick up my Silhouette Cameo 3 this afternoon that I brought in home and set it up instead of packing to go on holiday. I printed out page 1 of the scalescene footbridge that I'd prepared in Silhouette Studio with the registration marks and then put it onto the cutting mat. First issue was that it didn't seem to want to load the cutting mat at first, but eventually managed to work it out. It seemed that the rollers just didn't want to grip at first. I then sent my file to cut. I wasn't expecting it to be perfect first go, but it was a disaster. It took the cutting mat through which I took it to be scanning for the registration marks and then back again to start cutting, but no where near the edges of the print out. It then moved the mat about a little before almost unloading and then started to cut through the top of the mat and then get jammed. I cancelled and unloaded, but what I'd not seen at the start was that where it had cut it had gone straight through the mat. As I go away in the morning I've packed it away for now, but has anyone else experienced this? I've posted on the silhouette and scalescences facebook pages, so hopefully someone can point me towards what I've done wrong. I went through the setup guide and youtube videos and can't see anything I've missed. I've then been going through this rather long topic which had convinced me to buy one in the first place having seen what could be achieved.
