Having suffered two days of the screaming children while exhibiting last year, I'm sure that is a good decision.
All good wishes for this year's show

Look forward to seeing you both during setup, Norm. Have you got a pic to share?
That's very technical. I'll get one of the kids to do it!!
We had a successful first outing at TINGS but I'mnot counting any chickens!
Look forward to seeing you there.

Unfortunately can't be there this year as we are Blackburn. A good little show with excellent food. Hope it goes well for Ian and his helpers.

As one of the beleaguered operators on Klinkerhofen (three of us all weekend on a 22' O gauge layout) I can vouch for it being a tiring weekend - not helped by the hotel being extremely hot overnight as well. We stuck it out until the end but I agree with the earlier contributor that at the end of three days having to join a long queue to access your relevant loading door was not welcome. Difficult to see what the organisers could do to change this, though - not helped by a van being apparently allowed to load across the access path and blocking in four transit vans trying to leave and others trying to gain access. The plan was to break down the layout etc. then seek permission to get the vehicle in. That's fine if everyone adheres to the plan but on my way out to get my vehicle I noticed one van parked ready to load when the layout still had most of the stock on it!
We've done this Show for its four years and it is an enjoyable event in the main with friendly, helpful organisers and a wide range of traders and layouts. However, the combination of a largely unventilated marquee and a June date always has the potential for a weekend like this and I don't know if I'd want to take the risk again.

Thanks to Stan and his colleagues for a great weekend with Goose Lake.
Nice to see some weel kent faces again.

We are still awaiting for our paperwork to arrive and it is now three days since the show ended!

Hi all,
Only a few more sleeps before the show....
Once again it appears that Scotland will be having a heat wave on the show weekend!
Don't know how Stan manages this - seems to be a constant.
Time to add spare shirts to the boxes, water bottles to the ready bag, sun screen to the pnb bag.
See you at the weekend......
Thanks
ps - the show looks like it will be even better than last year.
If it's going to be a heatwave I'm not coming!! I've just spent three days at the Great Central Event where the temperature in the marquee was 41 degrees and I've no desire to repeat that experience!
-
My only disappointment was that I didn't get to ride on the big railway having spent so much time in the exhibition marquees where I had the opportunity to have a play on Klinkerhofen on invitation by the very friendly husband and wife team.
You were very welcome. Glad you enjoyed driving a train on the layout and thanks for your comment.

I went today. A most enjoyable event with plenty of good layouts. Well worth a visit, well organised, plenty of real train services.
Whilst this event is fine for us visitors I have to say I would not want to be an exhibitor stuck in one of those marquees for three days solid in this heat. Well done to all of the exhibitors.
As one of the exhibitors, it is very hot inside the marquees. Purgatory!
You know it's hot when the chocolate biscuits you left in the hotel never solidify!!

Am I the only layout co-ordinator who has not yet received their paperwork?

Back at base with Eisengebrau. Thanks to Peter and colleagues for a most agreeable weekend.

Eisengebrau packed and ready to go. I hope I can find my way in to the Travelodge at Broadway more easily than the last time I stayed there!
