  1. Apart from the description of a weathered item as 'as new' (and he's not alone, I've seen them listed as 'mint') I don't object to HJ's style of posting. Although upper case is regarded as shouting in text & email, I think ebay listings are different entirely. effectively being a form of advertisement. Many seem to have a lot in common with Victoriam & Edwardian posters and handbills, and more recently circus, variety show and gig posters, where a variety of fonts and a lot of capitals were/are used to grab attention.
  2. Nurse, the screens.... Have you checked out his other items? You can hardly blame the seller for trying his best to unload what appears to be a very 'unusual' collection he's bought, presumably from a freelance modeller with a vivid imagination!
  3. I've been feeling my age a bit lately but I don't think i'm ready for this; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CONVERTED-PLASTIC-TENDER-MAYBE-USE-SOMEONE-OLD-/150421615281?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2305d3b2b1 the price may be valid enough but the listing title got my attention!
  4. IIRC that is the seller who was covered in this topic a few days back that appears to order their stock from Amazon and put it on ebay at a massive mark up. May be doing the same with kits?
  5. There are some Liveway points on at the moment as well, just noticed them while going for a wagon kit. the guy has 3 in all. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GRAHAM-FARISH-LIVEWAY-3-RADIUS-L-HAND-POINT-NEW-/150444568909?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item230731f14d Pete
  6. For people returning from Europe, the geovernment needs to hire a fleet of coaches and taxis to pick them up at the ends of their holidays or business trips and ferry them to the ferry ports or the Tunnel. Then requisition as many cruise liners as possible to ship people back from the rest of the world. They should all be home in 6 to 8 weeks. Send the bill to Iceland. Simples!
  7. "One had to wait ages to get a drink on the Underground anyway." Not at Sloane Square, does anybody remember the bar on the platform? Pete
  8. What's on your mind?
