Tonbridge MRC 40th Exhibition Saturday 18th February 2023
ColinW replied to ColinW's topic in Exhibitions
Unfortunately, we will not have a card machine available for admission. There are several cash machines close by, and to help the admission desk, if people can have the correct amount when paying we would be grateful. Click on the flyer link in the first post for details. Colin -

Hi Andrew, yes I know I hadn't set up an entry in the Exhibition Calendar. Unfortunately it has been one of those things, that has kept slipping my mind whilst dealing with other things. Colin -

Some travel information for the show: Travelling by car: There will be no road signs highlighting the show. We suggest that people follow road signs for Tonbridge station, and then the Angel Centre is signposted as you get closer to it. There are several Pay and Display car parks around the Angel Centre. Please be aware that the car parks either side of the building are short term and could be busy with people using Sainsbury's. Travelling by train: First of all, there are no strikes announced for the day, so trains will be running. Tonbridge station is a junction station with trains from Redhill, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Hastings, Ashford International, Canterbury, Folkestone, as well as services from London Charing Cross, Waterloo East and London Bridge. There are engineering works taking place between Chislehurst and Sevenoaks, so there will be diversions in place on journeys. On arrival at Tonbridge, exit through the ticket office exit on the bridge, and turn left. You should see Sainsbury's. Walk down to the roundabout, and cross over the road. Follow the road round and then walk towards the next mini roundabout, close to Sainsbury's petrol station. There is a pedestrian crossing as you walk down the road. When you get to the mini roundabout, turn left, and you will see one of the car parks. The Angel Centre is at the far end of that car park. Colin -

As one of the operators on Strood Dock, I will pass on your compliments to the owner. The gremlins had appeared first thing, but the layout was working better throughout the day, and we had a lot of compliments from people Standing and watching. I will be back behind the layout tomorrow. Colin -

Thanks for the information Colin -
As they have had the moulds out to do the purple version of a rebuilt West Country, it wouldn't surprise me to see some more of them, especially as the Severn Valley Railway have said that next year Taw Valley will be painted in wartime black, Southern numbering and sunshine lettering. Colin

SHMRC Portsmouth Model Railway Exhibition - 19th November 2022
ColinW replied to kipford's topic in Exhibitions
An excellent exhibition put on by South Hants MRC. High quality layouts, and was worth the trek from Kent for the show👏👏 Colin -
I went yesterday. A good selection of layouts on display, I wasn't after anything in particular from traders, but unfortunately a couple had withdrawn from the show. it was good to see some tables put out in the small hall off to the right by the main entrance. I would say well done to the club, in making sure that there was separate queues to pay in cash, or card and to help people wishing to use the other facilities at the centre. Colin

Rapido had some on display at Uckfield yesterday. They said that they are expecting their shipment to be delivered tomorrow, and then sent out to the various outlets during the next week, so I am expecting a phone call to go and collect my order. Colin -

Well done to the organizing team. It was worth my journey from Kent to visit the show, and whilst not really looking to buy anything, managed to find some items I have been after for a long time. The catering was very good as well. Colin -
