I'm not sure of the precise time period that you're modelling here but I think that the "08.00 - 17.00" style of time designation is a fairly recent development in the world of signage. In the days of black and white televisions and earlier it would have been "8am to 5pm" or similar.
Loving the modelling though!

I'm a bit worried about that RSJ. It doesn't look as if it's properly supported!

I like the look of that sand wagon! I wasn't aware Peco did one, only the Parkside - you wouldn't happen to know the stock number? I'd like to track a couple down.
You are correct - Peco don't do one in 7mm. I suspect that it's a mis-identified Parkside wagon.

It was one of the samples we picked up when looking at kitchens - a very useful flat, but heavy, surface!
They're normally loan items!

Any idea where i'd go about getting an email address/catalogue? Sorry to take the thread off topic george!
I'll email scans of the relevant pages from the current catalogue tomorrow.

As to why they chose the AC Cars version, there will be a number of factors - the availability of drawings being just one. As to which version would have sold better, I suggest that almost anything GWR or BR(W) is a dead cert to sell in sufficient numbers to make it a sound commercial proposition. I suspect that your assertion regarding the W & M version is based more on a wish for one for your own layout than any specific market knowledge! Its a pity they chose to do the AC Cars railbus - the W and M version would have sold better. Oh well. Lets hope they get around to the class 15.

Take a look at this gem I found whilst trawling the net.
It was visiting along with 3440 when 92220 was launched in to traffic at Swindon then Bristol and finally Cardiff.
I was there! It was the first real blue loco I ever saw as a 9-year-old.

Clever stuff! I'm also very impressed at how you took the photo. Mouth operated camera maybe?!

Good work Steve. Your thread title always makes me smile though. In the same vein, I think I might try 'Paddington in a boxfile' as my next project.

According to a post by Geoff on 29 Nov 2012 on the G0G members forum (Geoff Holt's New Book thread) Part 2 is all written and with Wild Swan. Final proofs were expected by Geoff in mid-Feb and then the book would go to print. Wild Swan seems to be a computer-free zone so things move at a rather ponderous pace - particularly when a book is eagerly awaited!Hi Ray, I don't think that Geoff has written part two yet (part one has only recently been published).

Thanks for identifying what looked 'wrong' and how to overcome/avoid in future!

My records show that BRM Sept 2008 has an article on building PD hopper kits.

How do you get that Deltic to change its shape in the second video. It's most disconcerting!
