An 08 from Barrow Hill trundles across the ladder junction with a brakevan, ready to do a spot of shunting in Chesterfield goods yard south of the station, before tripping wagons back to Barrow Hill.
I don't whether it was the same in your period depending on which facilities were still open, but in my 60's/70's era the 08 had already done Armytages scrapyard and Central Wagon works and would sometimes have wagons in tow, and would go on to do the Brampton branch.

I usually watch Dan's kits when they come up just to marvel at the stupid money they fetch. I did once try telling people they could get them much cheaper from John, from the GCRS or from Dan himself, but in the end I gave up.
It could be the originality and the packaging which is attracting these sales?, "collectors" if i dare say it.

@Enterprisingwestern what is a portable set in term of this discussion.
BR database shows the radio equipment was removed from this loco in the early seventies, I wonder what the thinking was behind that.
Did these locos also have a more precise Speedo so the correct speed could be maintained easier?
As to it's exact set up, I don't know, but I reckon it was used on occasions like one night when the incoming Brush 4 humped it's own train direct from the reception sidings, although it didn't go over the hump when finished.

A better idea would have been to have said nothing to the police, armed ourselves with something silent, a couple of rolls of chicken wire and the keys to another friend's fishing boat. ☠️
I assume Little Red Riding Hood is aware of what she is living with?!!
Damned good idea though.

If I've understood the listing correctly, then I think I just got 120 sheets of Plastikard for 29p each delivered.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315245693683
edit: Oh. the thicker sheets have 5 per pack not 10, so 85 sheets for 41p each. I'll still take it as a bargain.
Should keep you busy for a couple of weeks!!

Thanks for your replies Mike and The Johnster. I think maybe I didn't quite explain what I was looking for very clearly.
The SPM bogies are basic rigid plastic mouldings with a standard 8'6" wheelbase. There are no moulded details and you attach the sideframes of your choice to them. I have used them in a variety of projects and have attached sideframes such as the BX1 as used on Class 313's and 507's etc. I was looking for a replacement for the SPM bogie as I have a number of MU projects that use the more modern type sideframes.
Certainly Replica Railways are very good and they sit under variety of my stock using B1, B4, B5 etc. I'm not aware of the other manufacturer, but will check them out as it sounds useful.
So, any ideas on an SPM replacement?
Steve
If I'm understanding you, wouldn't just cutting off the existing detail on an RTR bogie and filing it smooth achieve the desired outcome?

Depending on the size and fit of course, but Shawplan etched frames and Laserglaze windows might simplify things?
