Is this a kit? If so, whose?
-
I don't know the answer to your question, but you'll get more responses if you post the question in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips.
-
About the Ratio open, is it still unfitted? If it is there's no need for the tiebar between the w-irons. They only show up on fitted wagons with RCH style brake gear. Clasp brakes don't have tiebars and neither do unfitted wagons.
-
I would have done a coat of Halfords grey primer as a base. It is very reliable and gives a good even coat. I'm really lazy when it comes to painting so sometimes I'll just put the lettering straight on that, particularly for pre-grouping wagons where all we know is that they're "grey".
-
I don't think that's a good excuse. Scratchbuild. You clearly are slacking!
D
I'm not slacking, I'm having technical difficulties. https://www.scalefour.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=5254

Ha Ha, very funny.
I bet I if we did it against the clock I'd still be winning. Can't wait to see your blog posts or workbench thread on building a Finney M7.... Maybe you'll have it finished for AP and I can see it then...
D
I doubt it will be started before AP, it hasn't been released yet. The 2mm may be running by then and the A4 may be started...

It seems like this whole outside cylinder replacement chassis business is much less straight forward than previously advertised. You could almost build a whole Mitchell kit in the time it takes to convert an RTR model...
-
Some would say that your cylinder problems are caused by EM wheels being too wide and nearly sharing an outside width with P4. I wouldn't say that. I would be much more inclined to put the blame squarely at Swindon's door.
Unless it was an etched chassis drawn for OO? What should the overall width be and what is it on the model now?
-
Good to see you keeping out of trouble. The more non-GWR P4 engines the better!
-
I think that O5 needs a load of some sort to hide the floor problems. Is it an O5 at all? I thought those all had DC brakes and that has lever brakes...
-
It's great to see so many red wagons!
-
It probably won't work if it's already been vanished. Too bad.
The cattle wagon is right side up on my computer and upside down on my phone.
-
Have you tried Micro Sol on the transfer? That may help. Walthers Solvaset is even stronger, but I don't know if it's available in the UK. It may be worth looking out for.
-
Looks very good
-
Isn't there a tumblehome on these?
-
HI Mikkel,
I do hope someone can be persuaded to do them - although I may be able to get some artwork done privately - I'll keep you posted.
D
Narrow Planet did numberplates for my NLR tanks. I sent a picture, dimensions, and text. Quite affordable.
-
I feel like I've seen etched numberplates for GWR wagons, but I don't remember who did them.
-
Oh very droll...
Well in fairness we really don't know when the change was. Somewhere between 1892 and 1904 they changed from red to grey. 1904 makes the most sense to me, but there are no definitive records.
-
I'm glad you've seen the light at last. Even if the process did make you see red...
-
I'm glad it's finally running!
-
It wouldn't happen to be four by one feet would it?
-
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of it!
-
It was a weekend of headaches wasn't it. Lots of problems with stock plus an awful actual headache on the Saturday for me. I really must drink more water while setting up...
But I was pleased with the look of the layout and everyone's positive comments.
-
I'm looking forward to seeing this develop.
