    Farish Class 40

    I was given 40159 & D369 for Christmas. 40159 has a decent turn of speed and although not as fast as other BachFarish diesels I prefer its gearing. However, D369 is very, very slow, even on full power. OK for heavy freight but useles for passenger turns. I wonder why there is such a significant difference.

    Four, pre-ordered from Hattons, arrived today. They are wonderful wagons with a lot of exquisite detail. Well Done, Dave. I have fitted short-shank Farish rapido couplers as well and they work really well on my layout. Looking forward to the next colour.

    If models are offered to the trade, they will probably only pay a third of the amount that the crowdfunders will have to pay. Then the trade will make a significant profit on the back of the crowdfunders. There is also a danger that some signed up for crowdfunding will withdraw and wait to buy from the trade, hoping for a discount.

    Hi Dave I have ordered 3 Kings. I would be prepared to pay £20 more per loco if others agreed and it was enough to get the project over the line. Then there could be 4 instalments to spread the cost. Just a thought, Cheers, Ged

    I am really delighted that Dave has taken the plunge with this. I have ordered a couple, at this stage, and a possible third is very tempting!!! I hope the publicity on the web and in the press give the project the profile it deserves with masses of modellers signing up. Fingers crossed. Ged

    I think an N Gauge King is a great idea and if crowdfunding is the way to get one or two in a reasonable time frame, then I am all for it. Hope this gets more exposure in the model railway press to bring more modellers on board. Cheers, Ged
