  2. Another Saturday Night - Cat Stevens
  3. I cut the body through, stretched it by about 12mm, cut the cab back off, fitted a firebox backplate and a pair of Dublo trailing wheels. Painted it beige. Fun and funky. 0-4-2 !
  4. That Was the Week That Was - Millicent Martin / Ron Grainer.
  5. If it's what you want, buy it. My dad had been hankering over a sports car since he retired in '89. Only when he had to give up driving completely in 2013 due to failing eyesight did he express regret at not buying one.
  6. Little Miss Can't be Wrong - Spin Doctors. Yep. You've got it. Good to see some newbies.
  7. Let your yeah be yeah - Jimmy Cliff.
  8. But as it's RHD it's probably not an import, so N Reg dates it to 1974 / 5.
  9. First time I've seen the V8 Victor. What a beast!
  10. Yes. Cos my daughter was born in '86 and she's 30 in a few weeks.
  11. Get Down - Gilbert O'Sullivan
  12. Those ERs who remember the macabre start the 28xx household had to 2016 will no doubt have been relieved that the tale of death and woe which opened the year has abated since the spring. It now appears however, that this was merely a period of respite and that the evil forces have taken up their swords and staffs once more. Mrs 28xx mother, at 76 years, has been struck down by a double stroke leaving her hospitalised and profoundly confused. Her psychopathic German Shepherd has, reluctantly been afforded a billet at 28xx towers, only to close its jaws around the unfortunate head of L.J. (my 32-month old grand-niece). Luckily no physical damage was sustained, the mental trauma on all present will have repercussions for life. Question for ERs. Do we have the dog destroyed and hope my MiL never regains enough mental capacity to ask "Where is my dog?" ?
  13. Hold Me Now - Thompson Twins
  14. I close my eyes and count to ten - Dusty Springfield
  15. No. I am not decrying their efforts to raise funds one bit. The gamble (if gamble it was) paid off. A lot of people were made happy on their visits, and some may even return on non-spectacular days and absorb the country-branch-line atmosphere in all it's understated glory. And those with a more subtle palate have the joy of a future more secure. Win-win. I salute the management!!
  16. While I am really pleased that the SVR has made a huge pile of money from Pacific Power, this level of thrill-seeking hero-worship frankly leaves me cold. I'm looking forward to the End of Season Gala with the crab and 2-8-0 tank.
  17. From a Midlands working men's club. Please do not throw your cigarette butts in the urinals It makes them soggy and difficult to light.
  18. I'm a Space Man - Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band
  19. Welcome to the Machine - Pink Floyd
