  1. The shot of Burmington Grange under the canopy is truly superb, it just reeks of atmosphere. John
  2. Being fairly new to this forum I have only just found this thread. What an absolutely delightful layout, the impression of space you have created is superb. I am going to have to go back to the start of this thread and read through the lot, it looks inspirational. John
  3. Just found this thread Mike, it is great to see the start of a project with the tantalising glimpse of bare baseboards coming along very nicely, not sure why you say your woodwork skills are in short supply, they look mighty fine to me. Having a house on the market awaiting that rare beast "a buyer" I have no layout at the moment having dismantled my last incomplete effort. It will be great following your progress and "banking" ideas for the hopefully not to distant future when I can make another start, looking forward to your progress. John
  4. The shot of the South Devon passing the Signal Box with the harbour in the background is delightful, it gives a real impression of a sizeable harbourside town. I love the quality of this layout. John
  5. It might be worth having a look at the Wizard Models website, they do various Buffers and may have oval diesel buffers though I am not certain. John
  6. Cracking signal arrays coming along, so impressive. I must get to see this layout as soon as a chance comes along. Many thanks for the two replies to my colour question on Water Columns. John
  7. Browsing back through this fantastic thread I noticed a water column painted Green. Forgive my ignorance, was this a standard LNER colour for water columns
  8. Just signed up to RMweb and found this thread. Being fascinated by the pre war LNER this is just up my street, superb workmanship. John
  9. Hello David, As a newbie to RMweb I am building up my followed topics and yours is straight in there, looks like a superb piece of work underway. Looking forward to seeing it develop. John
  10. Hello Derek, Many thanks for your post, joining a club will certainly be one of my first priorities and hopefully the house move won't take as long as I fear it might. Certainly looking forward to a move "up North" from the madness of the South of England, me and my better half love Yorkshire. Regards John
  11. Hello, I am new to RMweb and have just discovered this thread. The work is superb and made even more interesting as I am hoping to make a house move to Pickering next year. Planning to spend the next few days reading through the thread from the start. Cheers John
