    Well wishlist remains a wishlist

RF red stripe class 47 (no problem with 37s they churn out in that scheme)
GW 150 green class 47 (some one must want a Brunel/Churchward/Gooch/Great Western?)
RF red stripe class 31 (no doubt they will release another 37 in that scheme..)
Dutch class 31 (guess what class there is several in dutch..)
class 25/3 (reckon thats gonna be a real long wait..)

Luckily Dapol are ticking a few boxes with their announcements...  😁

Still no Mainline 37/4 (The IC stripes not Freight company) Still no white roof FOs glass half full says money saved.....

    Hi

Yes I found it strange that something I have been waiting for since about 2016 has appeared in all the other scales including TT/3mm but not N/2mm. Very annoying / frustrating.

    Cheers

    Paul

There is literally thousands of packs for other scales N seems to have 600 odd. Railtec service always been good and I recommend them but I don't see much going on in the TT world to warrant that much product???? Maybe I'm missing something. Back OT seems a decent run by Farish. An RR Mk2 brake would be good as I'm having to respray one otherwise.

I have trouble telling some of my locos apart, doesn't help when the numbers are only 1 different 47035/47435!!  Two blue 24s, have to put the strong glasses on, and I have two green 25s same again.  It's not even that I have two of the same loco, all different numbers, but reading them is difficult, so would I bother to alter the number absolutely not.

Maybe I should have modelled the large logo period!!

Remember when InterCity starting putting minute numbers on it's 47s, 86s and 87s 🤣

I guess some of the difficulty is with blue and the green eras there is less to tell locos apart and numbers are more difficult to read. Remember the small Intercity numbers period well not easy in the smaller scales.

Time will tell with TT but it needs other companies to make runs of stock to get it having a larger appeal.

The quality of N stuff now is that good I wouldn't jump a scale when I can run a doubled headed 12 coach train which fits in a passing loop. That's with sound fitted locos.

You can see TT in *some* model shops….

Not wishing to bring the TT discussion in to this thread, but it’s a little bit apples & oranges. N Gauge is a well established scale with multiple manufacturers and wide support from many smaller suppliers and societies. At the moment TT is essentially a single company enterprise with one or two others dabbling around the edges, and from what I understand the bulk of TT sales so far have been in Europe rather than the UK.

With the above in mind I’m skeptical that TT has had any baring on Bachmann deciding to produce trainsets in the Farish range, especially since they have been a feature of it for many years already, or that it has any link to the number of new Farish items now coming through, many of which will have been in the production pipeline since well before Hornby launched TT120.

    Tom.

It's kind of odd the TT rush, railtec transfers which I use a lot these days do TT and 3mm but have much out of stock or not produced N gauge range. I guess Many N gauge folk don't renumber etc but with Magnification it's not much different to other scales...

  5. The sound fitted 158 is interesting. Wondering though wether to go for one or just fit it myself using one of the well known DCC sound suppliers. Don't want to miss out on having the model waiting to see how it's sounds. Most stuff I have bought lately (RR mk2s) sold out so fast that pre ordering is the last chance saloon for many models these days. Especially in N were we seem under served.

  6. Some work been going on behind the scenes, mate of mine Anthony who is great with electrics has rigged up a raspberry pi computer to run a route setting programme on a touch screen so I can set routes that involve multiple point changes by touching a screen. This can also be done by phone on an app also or a mouse plugged into the computer. This interface will also eventually have block detection and control signalling which is planned.

  7. Some overall layout shots, not award winning but give an idea of what's been done so far and what's left to do. The unfinished board near the cabinet will have a rising Road going over a concrete bridge and a smaller road off that going over a double span stone bridge to the Castle. Planning a river feature on the other side of the castle and the disused line to Aberkeld flanks the other side of the Castle mound. The road behind the Grain loader also needs finishing as does the scenics on that part of the board. I also need some lighting in buildings and to do a lighting bus wire underneath the boards.

    Happy New Year to all.

  8. I am doing 1993, was up there a lot at the time but didnt bother taking coach numbers, I might be the only other modeller with similar questions, have been trying to figure out which coach was still with RR instead of Scotrail branding but am at a loss.

Am on that Vid with 428 when it leaves Waverley head out person briefly seen.

One thing to note is the Platform 5 books were not quite up to date, There was a lot of mk2s in RR up there as the West Highland was pretty much all Loco Hauled on the Mallaig branch plus a return to Glasgow and back. Also a turn Perth-Edinburgh-Inverness-Edinburgh-Perth and an Inverness Aberdeen with 3 returns. Plus the Kyles with the Green/Cream mk2s and Obs saloon. I reckon Eastfield painted a lot during early 1992 as pretty much the last work done there as the 26s and 37s left for Inverness/Motherwell and DMUs went to Scrap.

    Cheers

  9. 37113 starts emerging from a 37068 body, Bees Hill models have worked on a new front end based on a split box with doors, hinges and a high intensity headlight. As I posted a while back in the Farish thread this type of 37 front end is not produced by farish with the cut away bufferbeam. As far as I know these front ends may be available soon on a well known auction site.

    Cheers

Something a little different today and no I’ve not had a bang to the head 😉

Although my passion is diesels and electrics I’ve always wanted one of these, mostly because my dad loved them and they remind me of him.  I came close to buying one in the mid 80’s when a trip to the original tiny Hattons on Smithdown Rd with my mum and dad to trade in some stock I didn’t use resulted in quite a nice little amount of credit, I wanted to buy one then mostly for my dad but he insisted on no so we compromised and bought a Lima 09 and many other bits.

So I thought now was about time but it had to be something that looked right and fitted in so here it is…
