    That was the old tennis courts - you could still see the base of the courts amongst the trees! out of interest, Leasowe crossing box had disused levers that apparently served the Cadbury sidings?

    Regarding the fire station, this site may help... http://www.fireflash-delta64.co.uk/westkirbyarch.html it features the open back Land Rover L4t and ex Mersey tunnel police 88 that used to pull a trailer of equipment, as well as an ERF wrl in a bit of a cake fine situation!
