  1. Small update, got a hold of one of the new GCR signal cabins from Bachmann. Excellent as always, I’ll have to make my mind up whether to use this one or the other box for the station. Also decided to get on with the Barnum as it has been sat around for ages with not much happening. Glazing done (a job I don’t enjoy) and then when assembled discovered it to be as bent as a banana. It will take some working out at how to straighten it satisfactorily. Any suggestions welcome!
  2. The GCR Rothley Cabin and GCR Mess Room arrived the other day, took the signal box out for a quick piccie!
  3. I have 4. Mallard and SNG in 1980s mainline condition and Osprey and Silver King in LNER period.
  4. I have pretty much finished building this GCR weighbridge office kit from Intentio Laser Kits. A very enjoyable build and I am delighted at how it has ended up. A thumb injury (with trip to A&E, X-ray and stitches) meant I’ve been away from modelling for a few weeks and this was a pleasant easing back into it.
  5. MX5s are a joy to drive. Having had to spend £1k on it this month perhaps not so joyous…
  6. I was on the Farewell Railtour so the temptation to get the pack is high!
  7. And No.6 in L&NER guise also arrived, I ought to think about getting power to the track so I can run them!
  8. I took 373 to a friends to run, a little noisy to start with but it settled down. And No.6 in L&NER guise also arrived.
  9. I think a lot of Stirling Single owners are happy with the arrival of these!
  10. The other arrival today, finally No.1 has a decent looking train to pull!
  11. More photos were required as it is so very pretty!
  12. My patience has been rewarded, what a lovely looking engine! What with 2x9Ns, 3xGCR coach kits and 7xGNR Genesis arriving within days it has been an expensive week!
  13. Well I couldn’t resist taking a few pictures. What a stunner!
  14. Wasn’t the Great Central delivery I was expecting this morning but no less welcome! Matchboard Brake Third, Brake Composite and a Barnum Third Open.
  15. Well they should be oval but at present I can’t seem to find any appropriate that will fit. I thought some buffers better than none at all! These round ones are just held on with Tacky Wax so secure but easily replaceable when better alternatives are found. I’ve ordered more Matchboards and a Barnum so I’ll be cracking on with them soon. Eagerly awaiting the 9N as well. Hopefully delivery will be tomorrow.
  16. Very nearly there with the Matchboard Third. Just buffers left then working out what to do about getting GCR transfers…
  17. Over the last few weeks I’ve been working on a 3D printed kit from Martin Kirkby. First time working with a 3D print, a GCR Matchboard All Third. It’s a great kit and I’ve really enjoyed working on it. Next job is glazing and continuing with painting the interior. 7D56F9DB-C1BD-47B1-92FB-EB8F3238E8FD EBC2510C-2691-4785-9D65-5F3E40E0BC31 DA7A26B0-772F-464C-B6B1-ED7A4E4FEB1B 08E42400-D0D2-4FBC-9FBC-FB40CE718038 2DA23909-6B4A-40C7-96BA-6438F52A4642
  18. A little photo to commemorate 100 years since the formation of the Big Four. I’ve not done as much as I would have liked on the layout last year, I did finally get both running lines down as a complete circuit, it does need the wiring finishing though. I’m hoping to get more layout in the coming weeks.
  19. Another KOYLI arrival. All bits in tact, perfect condition. Now to get it on the layout!
  20. And I thought I’d be clever and make an obscure brake van not many other people have a model of. D’oh!
  21. Well the leg hinges I used turned out to be no blooming good and they’ve already buckled. I’m going to fix the legs in a simpler fashion which we use on a club layout called Tedburn St. Mary. I’ll box off the corners to create receptacles for the legs to slot into and secure them with loose nails. They’ll be removable and will be separate when in transportation/storage. Not the most attractive solution but simple and reliable. One step forward and two steps back!
  22. A very nice colour photo of Dulverton on the front cover! Useful reference as I think I’ll need to make the bridge and pump house as after extensive searching on Saturday I confirmed they weren’t up the club.
