as i build kits i will post updates on the work
At the moment i have a Comet W46 GWR collett Double ended composite slip coach which is in the midle of been painted the next job on this coach is painting of the brown
As part of the CRM 0n30 Modular Layout i am building a valley Modular which will have a wooden trestle bridge going across it
The standard for the modules is to have the track at four inches above table level, Forks Trestle will hang between two tables though and the rest of the modules will then be placed either side of it. This arrangement works OK, we have a single OO scale module which drops below table level too, but it is strictly one drop down section per assembly because varying table lengths at different venues make it impossible to guarantee that the layout can match two table joins.
heres the link to were i got to on the old Rmweb http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=44976
Today I am painting coach one is the GWR slip coach which I have painted the ends black and a Chivers LNER 4 wheel brake van (pigeon) again its in teak livery
The next job for this coach is to letter up the sides then varnish them , glaze & fit the roof.
since the old rmweb is not always on line at the mo here is a link to some pics of Forks Trestle over on Fotopic

i now have the wood to build the boards so this can be used as a stand alone layout
well the HST power car has now got its transfers on & about to get a coat of satin varnish & once that is dry its just the glazing then its finished
I fined water slide transfers a pain but heres some pics of the Car
thanks for the coments chaps latter i will have a Midland Railway Dia 572 12 wheel 3rd class dining car which ran with the Dia571 but once i have finished this coach i have 3 TPOs to build before i can build the Dia 572
Back to the Dia571 well i have built up the chassie, body & bogie which i have replaced with ones from the 247 Developments range & i will be sell the 2 pair of 5522 Midland Bains 12 wheel bogies from this & the Dia 572 kit
i still have the corridors to build up & then the interia but thats a job for tomorrow as is the roof them i will be fitting the castings to the coach
I am not a fan of this type of coach build i like to have a chasie that is bolted to the body like the Comet kits so painting is easyer ( but then i will not be painting this coach )
well i have got the body built apart from fixing the roof on once this has been done i will need to fill in around the net doors
I have drilled out the roof ready for the vents which will be fitted once i have finish fitting the roof but that will be tomorrow Now as will the chassie
I boboed when fitting the ends as i got then the wrong way & had to remove them & re-fit at the right ends
The Highland TPO is now in LMS maroon & i hope to get the roof painted tonight
Well to day i have fitted the glazing & asembled the coach
I have found this set of etches very nice to work with & i am very pleased with the out come

lI did not build the Viaduct it was built by johnteal from on here as part of is old shed layout & when he got rid of the old layout i got it from him for taking photos of finished models on
I must say it has the look of the scotish Glenfinan Viaduct the background is a Faller Austrian backsceine sheet but looks the part
