Thanks Ray - Different variety but those will do - not the easiest site to place an order with, though!

Thanks Owd Bob, I rang them and they say they aren't on the importers list any more - BU99ER! - I have a nasty feeling it is going to have to come from USA!

Thanks Joseph - None in stock there

Does anyone have a PLastruct 90431 HO scale 1:100 CL4 caged ladder going spare - they seem to be like rocking horse manure on this side of the pond. Quite happy to pay a sensible price - ie importing from USA - shipping is silly!

Not sure if this will be of help http://www.llxlocomotives.com/?p=21

Do any of our USA modelling members know if Centre (Center?) beam flatcars were built in anything but 72' lengths and if there were shorter ones, and if so, does anyone know who models are made by? Whilst I would like a couple of them in HO, 72' is much too long and unwieldy for one of my small layouts. Hoping that someone knows the answer, or if I am doomed to disappointment.

Wow! It'll take some pretty good modelling to better that!

The local sparrows are making a lot of noise in the thorn bush near my front door, possibly they are nesting there as the bush is relatively cat-and-any-other-predator-proof.
Next to my garage, but over the fence, there are the remains of a cherry tree, that the previous owner employed some cowboys (of the travelling variety) to "trim". Needless to say the hacked off all the branches, and sold them all to a local wood-turner, leaving a very unsightly tall stump . The neighbours, who bought the house after she passed on, have grown a clematis up it, and the resulting Aviary is home to the msot enormous flock of sparrows, that seem to have moved in from a very large Holly tree further down the road. The racket, when they wake up in the morning, and settle down to roost in the evening, has to be heard to be believed!

With "auditors" at the Long Island client, the level of frantic has just been elevate
Yesterday saw us get another 5 inches of snow time it was done. We're now up to 39 inches for the season, and 25 in the last nine days. So instead of it looking like a light winter, we're right on track for an average or possibly record after all.
-15 first thing and cloudy, a whopping -7 right now, still cloudy but no more snow expected until later tomorrow.
Hope everyone is heading over the HUMP successfully!
Especially for Ian - saw this on FB and thought of you immediately!

Bike #3 - or maybe #4 was PEW 291 - one of the very few reg nos that I remember, my BSA350 Gold Star trials in road legal condition - the one bike I wish I'd never sold. Hooligan days!

Absolutely no idea why, but I have literally only just noticed that Portway Terminal is O gauge instead of HO as I thought - what a silly boy!

Ray - silly question - is that site anything to do with the Jack Hills NCIR site (now sadly defunct)??? I presume it is the same railroad?

Now we are down to an Inglenook

There are numerous precedents for using an elderly switcher in private ownership to switch the elevator, but I doubt it'd be allowed out onto the main. The plan itself reminds me of how a private siding next to a British main line would be worked (such as Littleton colliery or Tring Cement on the WCML), but more akin to trainload flows that require a lot more space than individual car spots.
Yes it may well be worth considering moving the run-round right hand end up one set of tracks, leaving you a separate runround loop and the main with a simple connection to the elevator yard lead and sidings area - The elderly elevator switcher then stays in its own area and the main-line loco drops off and picks up from the siding adjacent to the main - Good thought, Andy!
-
....... Unless it pulls cars from the elevator yard tracks onto the yard lead, pushes them back onto the run-round, uses the run-round to get behind them, and then is in a position to pull them back, and push them into the elevator. BTW Double slips - being expensive to maintain are very rare in USA - you may need to rep[lace it with a pair of back-to-back turnouts

Re doing the sealant/caulk - I seem to remember that an old credit card works well.....mind it's a while since I did it!

Surely you just increment a number (or character) by 1? That's what I always do, as that's a pretty standard requirement in virtually everywhere I've worked.
Would that it did! - it objected strongly if the same letter appeared in the same place two months running! Try replacing Tunnocks with Sundays3 - and because the third letter was the same - uh-oh!
