  1. OKay, WOW that is a lot of info. So what I take home from all this is we must have up and down going the right way and all the others do their best but go the way they need to, to work. That kind of means it goes the way it can on my trainset?
  2. Martin, as always thank you for spending the time. You go above and beyond with us, I dont know how you do it.
  3. Insane. In all the good ways! Inspiring.
  4. I think my problem was I went for the landscape option but on every consecutive print attempt the printing promt didnt pop back up. I see how page origin works. I guess it is just where the track work I wanted to print ended up being in the room. Thanks Martin! (will check the Templot club forum in future... Doh!)
  5. Wow. Is this still going? how is it?
  6. Gday all! I thought I would be a genius and print with A3 to minimize joining and use less paper. However Ive managed to achieve this, and cannot navigate back to printing options to try to even change it back to A4 and see how that goes. Argh! hahahaha. I now have 38 sheets of A3 all printed mostly blank with small bits of track at the top and bottom edges. Thanks in advance for your help.
  7. This help so much thanks!!! It doesn't help that I am a sucker for when a really slow goods taking its time gets blown into the weeds by an express going in the same direction and that I love both large and small locos.
  8. Gday all!! Firstly, my apologies as I am certain this has been asked many times before. As I am not even sure what the terminology of such a convention is named so I don't even know what to search for! I am just an aeroplane mechanic and also located on the other side of the planet so I havn't spent my life with it in my back yard... I am about to build my 2nd layout in a 9ft by 18ft room. My first layout was a figure 8 ish water wings corner thing and I loved it. But unfortunately had to break it up as it didn't fit in the new place. Now I have more room that I have ever had I want to do it some justice. If I am modelling the 1930s and 40s LNER on a 4 track main line which way do the trains go? If i am modelling a 2 track main with a 3rd line, did that even happen? The answer will most likely change how I think about my design. So I thank you so much in advance for any of your advice. Cheers!!! Ben
  9. Here is a link to the Vid. It has the Hornby A1/A3 DCC chip installed. Unfortunately the Layout has since been broken up and I am designing the new one now. I imagine that its pulling power would be very similar to the Hornby O1.
  10. Yep I know what you mean. They will definitely look nice going around the layout as is. But there is something fascinating about how they used to make those coaches and its always great to find a new one to kind of try to replicate. Even though it will only ever be roughly close.
  11. When I discovered Peters Spares, I went nuts and ordered so much stuff as it was an amazing site for me with which to fulfill my need to modify everything! But he has since jacked up shipping are there any alternatives??
  12. Seems I got lost in the vortex. It had windows on the end as well. https://www.scribd.com/article/437435323/Gresley-Teak-Coaches-Move-To-Ecclesbourne 2nd pic down. Next question: Where can one get bogies from? Some of my teak coaches look like Hornby used to fit them with some other random bogie.
  13. Fascinating! Do you know what the deal is with the skinny coach with all the windows? Almost looks like a brake van converted back into something else
  14. Now that I see it, I can't un see it. And I have also noticed that the sides are flatter. This means it is feasable to make them just out of styrene without trying to re use the bottom panels under the windows that is rolled under. A question though, for lack of diagrams and photos... where would the step be on the coach with the longer brake compartment?? As it seems like it would be placed somewhere in between the last large window and first double door of the brake compartment with the bottom panels with piping needing to be split and somehow make it look factory. Hmmmmm.
  15. I loved the P2 with the Bugatti front end. I wonder when the RTR one comes out? I wanted to do this to my one but the valve gear put me off.
  16. Not mention that when you print a template you can just stare at its beauty for five minutes before putting it down. Dont forget inflation also must include coffee surely. Question: What are you using to move the switch blades?
  17. That is fascinating. I don't know how, I took that as the exception rather than the norm. Now that is going to need some careful cutting to keep the paint work and I wonder what to do with the end part..
  18. I was watching a Vid of the Gresley Beat layout the other day and it is a little blurry but I am pretty sure I spotted a 4-8-2 in there!
  19. Cheers! The Thompson O1 is a beautiful and nice running model in its own right. Hopefully I can get one some day to keep it as an O1.
  20. I mean all that in the good way. It is alllll me and not the program. I am finding I am quite addicted to it. I guess I know where a lot more hours are going to go tonight. Love the track work and love hearing that the Beer economy is still going strong.
