    Saw two red deer in the Goyt Valley yesterday - totally gobsmacked as I didn't know there were any wild herds around here!

      No, near Whaley Bridge. Its reckoned that they are descended from deer that have escaped from Lyme Park.

      There are also a few around Longdendale. I saw one on the old Woodhead line near Torside a couple of years ago.
