A few years ago, the other half and me were walking down our local high street, when I spotted a purse, full of cash, I picked it up and headed straight to the police station. When I got in there their was an old lady crying because she had lost her purse!

I think what nimbamoss said is fairly standard practice. In my experience in Dorset the stay away from anywhere that means they have to go out and look. The lead was stolen from the church roof, it had all been marked but all they did was give us a crime number never even looked at the scene.

Indeed; I had my car broken into three times and all the Police said was to try and get a look at the thiefs if possible; considering they came during the night that was a bit unlikely...
