I'd better do a site search on copyright first. Never been entirely sure how it works.

If you're UK based, copyright is automatic. There are no forms to fill out, no registration, all you need to do in a court of law is prove by a time dated document that you created the initial idea. Many people post date parcels containing their manuscripts/designs for this purpose but there are better ways.
