    wonders why we have 1:76 for railway modelling and 1:72 for aircraft, military etc. Shame both disciplines don't share the same scale.

      So the model aircraft look as if they're higher up when they fly over the layout?

      I have a large collection of military models in 1/76 from the 70s & 80s, + some in 1/72 but that's more common now.
