Dapol do extension cables with the plugs fitted - https://www.Dapol.co.uk/products/4a-000-014-signal-extension-cable-2m-length?variant=43341668581599. I've tried measuring a plug I have here but I can't get an accurate enough figure, looks like 0.75mm though.

As a nigh on 71 year old I never had any practical training in any engineering or woodworking skills at school, something I regret. I did get some practical fabrication experience at college though making a small 'project' box in steel with a perspex lid and making the bolts and trap nuts to secure the lid from hex bar. About 12 years ago I rebuilt my 1972 Escort from a bare metal bodyshell including producing a custom wiring loom. I have also rebuilt a Hillman Imp from an MOT failure, rewired another one from scratch and built a garden shed from scratch. As a contrast I've also assembled two computers from component parts in the past. Currently I have, once I recover sufficiently from my open heart surgery, a commission to produce two sensor mounting brackets for a trip meter on a historic rally car (I've already produced about 8 or 9), the fitting of a steel underguard to one of my own cars and the recommissioning of a kit car (Lancia Stratos replica). I've also done quite a few DCC decoder installations on n gauge locomotives where space is quite tight. Not bad for someone self taught ...

Black colliery wagons with a large white cross.
Richard E replied to doilum's topic in UK Prototype Questions
To add to what has been said above this was debated on here some years ago and the conclusion was that white platform edges were not introduced in WW2 but may have been around from the late 1890's becoming more common during WW1. -

That brings back fond memories, my aunt was US Sales Director for Abarth, she had an Abarth 1000 Coupe as her company car (850 coupe with a 1000cc tweaked engine fitted). We were over there on holiday and she tossed the keys to Dad along with an envelope and said you're off to Monza tomorrow. Complimentary tickets for the Italian Grand Prix as a birthday present for me ...

And that ten bob note is probably worth several times it's face value now! Got to agree with you that there has been no proper direction from politicians for very many years although we might disagree about how far back that goes. That is as far into politics as I will go. As for civil servants ...

Correct but it is true that the car parks at Peterborough used to be rammed and are no longer. They, apart from Queensgate which is marginally cheaper, are ridiculously expensive at £2090 a year or £19 a day. How many are using other means to get to the station as a result. As for another comment about commuters priced off LNER long ago I would tend to disagree although it is now 5 years since I commuted daily (I retired). 5 years ago it was, at times, impossible to get a seat between Peterborough and York let alone on the London trains.

Back in 1994 my then employer 'centralised' one part of their UK operations in Peterborough. They cited cheap premises (the same type of offices in the city I lived in at the time were cheaper), skilled staff (Peterborough was, and still is, primarily a dormitory town to London for staff with the skill set they sought), improved quality of life for staff (I went from working 35 hour weeks to working anything up to 60 hour weeks) and good North, South, East and West links. I'd tend to agree with North/South but East/West??? As soon as the 'deal' they'd negotiated with the building 'owners' expired they closed down the operation and relocated it to Glasgow/Brentford.

Yes, from the very first post in this thread, nothing has been said about any fix being implemented yet. -
RMweb Premium - No Google Ads
Richard E replied to AY Mod's topic in Forum Rules, Notices, Faults & Help
Have you checked that you have selected the RM Web Premium option at the bottom of the page (see attached screenshot)? I found the other day that it had reverted to the default due to an update run in the forum. -
