Additionally have you had any problems with buffer locking when propelling? Being able to use 3 link couplings is another thing that draws me to 7mm scale.

Never had any buffer lock issues or derailment it all runs fine in that respect.

Just a bit of a clunk with the peckett and sentinel on the frog. I placed some plastic and it seems to improve it.

  2. Well it's been a little while since I updated.

I have just set up the layout to run a couple of new additions. I am getting a nice collection of little locos to run on this!

Latest arrivals are a Dapol Sentinel and a Minerva Peckett.

Whilst both run well they do seem to drop in the frog on the peco set track points so I will have to may be put some thin plasticard  in to lift the wheels up a little.

Looking ahead I may add a factory gate at the end between the two sidings and cobble over the yard, adding possibly a small yard crane. It's only a small space so I cannot do too much with it.

  3. Depending on what stock iam coupling dictates what I use to couple it with.

A magnetic tipped screw driver is my favourite weapon of choice but I do use bent wire taped to a small torch. However with the wire method coupling up diesels with airbrake stock and the various hoses hanging down does turn the air blue from time to time!

I knew they'd come in useful one day. Here are some empties, firstly going to collect scrap metal from Lincoln terrace IIRC.

Then the empties from Calvert landfill, for refilling. I think there might be several tonnes that travel considerable distances......

Great pictures. Just thinking if you had 10,000 tons of whatever to move from A to B and every day 50+ tons of it came back because the wagons weren't fully emptied it would generate another part train load!

  5. Does it happen?

Is it more appropriate to steam era.

Modern box wagons unloaded by grab - are the corners swept out?

Just curious, never seen pictures (or model) of wagons being swept out.

I guess even scrap metal would need the human touch for non metallic stuff etc.

    Thanks for any Answers!
