Date of the 7th confirmed on the main Bachmann thread. I suspect that we will see more 158's liveries announced.

I am not sure, they have done 2 batches alreasy. My predictions is another batch of class 47's possibly one as part of the collectors club

Im at a bit of a loss as to why Dapol have gone up against Revolution with the class 59

I am sure others can correct me on this but I am sure I read years ago model company's have a "line in the sand" moment in product development and once you pass that you have to keep on going regardless owing to costs. If this is the case and Dapol passed their line in the sand point when Revolution announced there's they had to keep going.

Might be a small class but the livery variation is higher than some more numerous classes

Anyone else playing the game of "I don't really need it, but if I wait they may drop their prices but if I wait to long

    they'll all be sold"?

Yes, I was waiting to see what happened to 2 Farish tank engines they had but they suddenly went so I guess I lost that game

  4. I would certainly be up for a rake of these. Still undecided if I want JHA or PTA behind my Yeoman and ARC 59 from Revolution. So one set of each would not be a bad thing

  5. What is the general consensus on non runners? There is a couple of N gauge DCC Fitted locos I am eyeing up that are sold as seen non runners.

Could it be something simple like they didn't try any other number than 3 or will it be potentially strip down and rebuild jobs?

Me too in green. I have asked and been told that further 47s are included in Bachmann's future plans, but no more detail than that I'm afraid, so we can probably expect the blue and green ones at some as yet unspecified future date. Very odd not to include the blue and green ones in the initial run of sound upgraded models as they are always the first liveries to sell out, but then I gave up trying to understand Bachmann's priorities or sales strategy for their models a long time ago 🤔

If we use the 158, 2MT, and 5MT as an example there will be further releases in the next announcement - presumably they are spreading them so as not to flood the market to quickly. Presumably interciy swallow will feature given the release of Mk2F's make it perfect companion. Blue and Green will get done I am sure to spread their appeal, hopefully a large logo blue version too

  7. If you want an interesting idea for a fictional livery, Pete Townend asked to paint 68846 and the only surviving C12  into BR Green livery, this was declined as management said "they must be painted black" however no one told him he couldn't line them so they did, that is how 68846 became the only lined J52.

So a BR Green version would be a potential

Probably why Rails went for 47628 SDG rather than 47484 IKB, 484 being the other way around to 799 in having the flush front at No1 end....

Might mean that the tooling can't do different ends at the same time. Be nice if it could though.

Possibly more because 628 was part of the sales rep exclusives in OO so the artwork was 100% theirs, whereas the only 484 they have done in OO was for Kernow who may have some rights on the artwork - no idea personally but just a guess.

However looking at the range all 7 class 47's have recessed headcode panels at both ends, so they may not have tooled this option at all. Guess we will see when the 2nd batch comes along in Feb 🤞

For anyone that wanted to complete a full rake, it would mean being in the Collector's Club. They may be better as regular releases. I think it is more likely we will see 47475 (perhaps as a regional exclusive) than the matching coaches, given that it was in the Parcels sector for a while in that livery after Trans-Pennine loco-hauled ended.

To be fair they did similar with 37501/502, you could buy 502 in the shops but if you wanted the pair (you don't often see photos of one without the other from that period) then you had to join the club and buy 501.

I seem to recall it was model rail magazine who commissioned the OO version of the Trans Pennine 47 and coaches so its debatable how high the demand would be for said set if we use the popularity of OO as a benchmark.

But working on the logic of the Ivatt club model it will be next quarter for the 47's, if we get regional exclusives I wonder what else will follow, perhaps a club exclusive tied in with that batch. My money is on

47475 Trans pennine - either club or north/Scotland

    47714 Anglia - Eastern

47747 "Graham Farish" Virgin - southern or the club exclusive

With a welsh Duff for the Wales and Ireland area

I found it browsing the Rails website.  There was a link on their hompage to the Bachamann Winter announcements, which lead to a 'View the Range' link, and then 47628 was the first item that came up when I filtered for N gauge.

Interestingly the sound version wasn't there, or I didn't see it perhaps.   But that's good as it probably does mean that the non sound would likely be N18 too I imagine.

If only they'd done 47500 'Great Western'.  That kept it's green livery for longer.

Possibly just uploading it as you looked, can't even pre-order it yet so guessing its not "officially" announced. I know they did at least two of the GWR 47's in OO - 628 and 484. So presumably its the old copied art work matter here. This does beg the question will any limited edition 47's appear? I half expected the club to do 798 or 799

Good that the 47/8s have Next 18, perhaps the Swallow livery will follow in the future.

And Rails of Sheffield have an exclusive Fairsh 47/6 on the way,  47628 Sir Daniel Gooch in GWR green.   According to the blurb it is only 6 pin though.  A tad dissapointing perhaps.

    https://railsofsheffield.com/products/class-47-6-47628-sir-daniel-gooch-gwr-150th-anniversary-livery-diesel-locomotive

Where did you find thta? First I have heard of it, great news though as I would love one of these. I would suspect it will have the same 18 pin chassis as the others. Either Bachmann did not tell Rails so they didnt let it slip or Rails kept it quiet so as not to spoil the "surprise" announcement today

    UPDATE

    Sound fitted also available here

How many more HST liveries have Dapol yet to do?

    https://transportdesigned.com/pictures-every-single-hst-livery-ever/

    Great Western Merlin

    Midland Mainline (2004)

    Cotswold Rail

    Hornby

    Virgin XC

    Steven B

If they did the Hornby version would this be the first time ever a manufacturer promotes a competitor? 😁

Dapol are now saying that the CAD and artwork is now complete and that the tooling is underway. Expected release is now Q4 2024.

And they are also doing 34051 Winston Churchill in BR Green later crest and 34081 92 Squadron in malachite green which they added to the list at TING's

  14. I must admit my thoughts was Accurascale/Rails 89 Badger in N would be announced out of the blue at TING's but that was squashed when Rails didn't even make the list to attend. Maybe next year, but as Steven says there is plenty of gaps to fill. The main one is does what Accurscale make fill those gaps. Hopefully they will still churn out some good quality rolling stock as a starter

Indeed, this seller is showing all six variants with stock levels of 10 plus for each, I haven't seen them advertised anywhere else yet, certainly not showing as "in stock" yet at Kernow where I ordered mine from, very odd unless Jadlam (the eBay seller in this case ) have jumped the gun 🤔.

    Roy

This seller Jadlam shop listed the mark 1's before anyone and showed 11 at the start so I would be dubious of their stock level

I have paid a bit more on eBay a couple of times, but it’s because I can use my nectar points. I’ve recently just got a farish mk1 bg and it only cost about £4 in total after converting nectar points to vouchers.  Rails have just had a big delivery from Bachmann…

And I had a smaller delivery from Rails yesterday - 11 mark 1's in blue and grey arrived at my door. But if you look on Rails website they have one of the SK's on order already yet I have 2 with me, so presumably these are popular

And with the usual 15% discount the prices are under those currently seen on a lot of Ebay items.

Quite who would be paying Ebay prices over the new price item at a model shop I don't know, don't people look or don't these Ebay items actually sell (perhaps not).

The items on eBay are from shops, Cheltenham Model Centre and KJB Models are just 2 shops I have seen selling on ebay. Not sure how many they sell through ebay as opposed to their own websites/counters though, I use them as a stock level guide

Still no Mainline 37/4 (The IC stripes not Freight company) Still no white roof FOs glass half full says money saved.....

This is the missing link in 37/4 for me for anyone modelling Scotland west highlands in the 80's or 90's (as I fully intend to do) you need at least one intercity example. Hopefully a future release will see large logo and intercity done

    Well wishlist remains a wishlist

GW 150 green class 47 (some one must want a Brunel/Churchward/Gooch/Great Western?)

I have a suspicion we will see the GWR 150 47 as sale rep model, most likely  south west area. Other guesses include:-

East Midlands, East & Southeast - Anglia 47714 or NSE 47

Scotland & North East - 47465 Trans Pennine Provincial

West Midlands, Wales etc. not a clue what they would pick but I could be wrong with any of them

The front of the nose doesn’t look right, it looks completely flat whereas EE noses had subtle curves.

the disc headcode version shows this the most imo

Thanks, I saw the renders and couldn't put my finger on what the issue was but the nose was definitely wrong to me and I thought 40106 showed it the most - thought it was the discs somehow.
