  1. Opened the new box then out with the super glue - no longer RTP but now RTG it would seem!!!

  2. I came across this post http://scalemodels.i...hing.com/?p=847 indicating that it would be BR Blue with SYP - Does anyone know if these people accurate prognosticators? And to further add to the confusion http://www.wonderlan...unit-dcc-ready/ these guys are claiming a delivery date of 18th October 2010 - so it won't be long to wait - if any of this is true - to find out what kind of a BR blue 4 VEP Hornby will be releasing. I hope it is the original version, and not the Gordon Pettitt - though worthy is in the same class as Heljan's 33 Eastleigh (which I made the mistake of acquiring and now can't get rid of)...
  3. EFE 1938 LU stock - to mortorize or not to motorize?

  4. Succesfully removed "The Bournemouth Belle" boards from Hornby Pullman cars - No glue just holes!

  5. Finished building showcases/cabinets for the motive power

  6. Admiring the scenecraft Hampton Garage - just the ticket!

  7. Just spilled tea all over my keyboard and now its #*&!!@

strip it down to it's component parts. Remove the PCB and put all the plastic bits in the dishwasher. Wait until really dry, should work fine ;)

  10. To reassure one and all - Both Unrebuilt and Rebuilt Bulleid Light Pacifics sometimes pulled the Bournemouth Belle - Sure the major traction was in the form of the Merchant Navy Class but each week once or twice (and sometimes even thrice) a Light Pacific would be in charge. How do I know? I went to school in Woking and for Three years from 1957 to 1960 or so checked out the Bournemouth Belle each day during term time as it came blasting through the station. Eager to get an eyeful and an earful of whatever was pulling it on that day. It was truly a glorious thing of beauty to behold! I no longer have any records of what pulled what and when but at the very least a good 30% of available LP power took its turn.

  12. This is excellent news   At last someone is going to produce it - Hornby have it seems have let this one get away from them... To celebrate this good news a picture... Will someone produce some 'Condor' head plates to go with them? One wonders..
  13. Very tempting but how will it look mixed in with a rake of white topped pullmans? Typical?
  14. To add to the mystery - I bought a 37-537A on the 9th July from Hattons - so they have been around for quite some time, long before the December time frame. I do wish they were back again maybe as 37-537B then there would be a new number.
  15. Superb - What can I say - charming, captivating evokes a finer era - thanks
  16. Glad to find this again - a bit slow I maybe . It is such a great layout. That view of the ramp going down into the station - the one with the Taxi at the top of the ramp is paricularly evocative.
  17. Thanks for the heads up - I missed the green 33/0 last time around and wound up making an idiotic mistake by buying 'Eastleigh' as a substitute - there's something about it that just doesn't fit
