    Thanks.

I've designed the crane and is 3D printed in sections and assembled. I've made a few now which I've sold. I also do one in 7mm. Based upon one from Hitchin depot.

Now you come to say it, I had the one you did based on the crane at Burton WRD, but this is taller though?

Not just a London thing, this has been common practice in the north east for as long as I can remember.

Unfortunately modern bus seats do not allow you to remove the bases unless you have a screw driver.

Modern buses also now have hazard warning lights. The seat cushion was to indicate to the driver behind not to pull up too close as the buggered one in front weren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear.

Not only are Hornby risking a repeat of the 2012 disaster by ploughing a lot of effort into a range which might not sell, they're devaluing the Bassett-Lowke name in the process.

The Bassett-Lowke name will mean nothing to Steampunk fans, and to use a name historically associated with well-engineered premium products on models derived from Smokey Joe and the Hornby 4 wheel coaches is somewhat akin to putting a Vanden Plas badge on an Austin Allegro....

    Shudder the thought...

    Cheers Luke..

It's in limbo at the moment.. will be making it's way to a new home as soon as we can co-ordinate ourselves (buyer lives quite a way from me)

In limbo no longer, I'm delighted to say that 'Winkford Green' now has a delighted new owner in myself. I met Martin in Peterborough on Sunday where the handover took place before heading back to East Kent.

I've always had a hankering to do a light railway layout, but working silly hours, lack of time, skills and any other excuse I can think of, meant that when there was a possibility that 'Winkford Green' may be looking for a new home, I jumped at the chance, Many thanks to Martin for giving me the time to find a free date for the handover.

At present, there are no immediate plans to change anything on the layout, barring the name. Being in East Kent, I thinking of moving it to a station on the East Kent Light Railway, on the planned, but never built Canterbury branch, the new, proposed, name is 'Wickhambreaux'

Stock to be operated is pretty much as before and that's it really. I'll start a new thread in time showing you what progress is made.

    Thanks!

Here's a few pics of your fantastic layout, real privilege to have a go of it. I really like the DMU's especially the Bristol 143. That's made me want to ressurect an old Hornby Pacer I've have! Got nothing to run it on at the moment though!

That EWS crew still shunting those wagons about? They take their time, don't they? :-)

  6. The trouble is finding the right person at the right time, that is why they sell so cheaply. Good for the buyer not so good for the seller.

It pained me to see all my railway modellers go to the tip for recycling, on the other hand I have a large amount of plans. Just need to sort them out into those I wish to keep, the others will be put into lots and sold on eBay

I done much the same, kept the pages I needed/wanted and tipped the rest

  7. Having had a massive sort out, I have about a hundred Railway/bus/underground/misc transport books for sale. Does anybody have any recommendations on the best way to dispose of these, in particular if I wished to dispose of as a collection, who are the recommended buyers in the trade?

    Thanks,
