  1. Looking at both the Hornby website and Hattons, there appears to be only 3 different 12-wheel bodyshells available as single items and in train & coach packs - Brake, 1st Kitchen and 3rd Parlour - am I right, or are any other body types available that I have missed?

    Hmmm....Good question.

If you've got the 2010 catalogue to hand, have a close look at the photospread heading pages 82/3.

It shows the observation car, 12 wheeled Brake car No.94, and, nearest to the camera, a 12 wheeler with a combination of details not featured on any of the current releases.

The vestibule door has a full length oval glass, but without a cut-away roof cornice, similar to the brake. It's not a brake though, as the mainlight window spacings are different (narrower). Also, the panelling surrounding the oval toilet window is made up of 5 sections, instead of 4.

Possibly, this is a pre-production mock-up, or maybe there's a fourth model awaiting the go ahead ?

  2. I'm fairly sure the thread on the old forum covered this - with most DMUs it happened from c1978 but IIRC opinion being that the SR sets were generally a tad later

Here's the link to GarryD100's thread on the old forum. Be prepared !!!..... It runs for 17 pages, starting from Dapol's original announcement, and includes, as PennineMC states, more information.

  3. Hi All. Many thanks for your kind comments.

Rhydgaled, here's another (poor/off-centre) 5-WES shot for you, and others, to play about with, if you so wish.

I've left enough space on the side, as I did with the pics posted on the Lymmo 3-CIG thread, for you, or anyone else to fill in the appropriate details.

Regarding the Pullman logo in my earlier effort, these were drawn/painted by hand, using the pics in Keith Parkin's Mk.1 Coaching stock book, as a guide. The Pullman font was done using 'Imprint MT Shadow', available in MS Paint tools.

They started out by being quite sharp, but the colour 'bleed' has resulted in them becoming blurred.

    Best Regards & Cheers.

  4. What an eminently sensible outcome for all concerned. And thank you Dave for setting your side of the record straight. From all the comments and announcements it never once in any way appeared that there was any disharmony between Dapol and Kernow and it is encouraging to learn that despite the obvious competitive side to the business that some sensible compromises are also reached which can work to everyone's advantage.

  5. G'd evenin' All.

This livery on the 442s might be suitable, now that they're on the Brighton line.

"Kippers, anyone ? Or would Sir prefer a Bacon Buttie ?"

    Edited / revamped pic.

I'm still trying to match the quality of you guys icon_thumbsup2.gif , without much success.

My present use of MS/Windows Paint always results in the 'bleeding' of the colours into one another, as you can see. I get the same problem drawing a Black line on a White background.

This might not be the right thread in which to ask, but it seems the right place.

"Has any one have any tips on how to prevent colour 'bleed' ?"

I've got Corel Paint Shop Pro installed, but my attempts result in the same thing.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

    Regards and Cheers.
